Default Can I use HE detergent in a regular washer?

I'm assuming I can, but want to be sure. My Kroger has the HE Gain for $3.99 and I would like to pick up a few. But I don't have a HE washer. Will it still work? TIA

The only thing I have ever read was NOT to use the regular soap in the HE washers because of the suds. The HE soap is low suds. In a desperate moment once I used a very small amount of regular soap in my HE washer for the Beagle blankets/bedding and had no issues......I wouldn't make that best practice. So I would say your safe...

I actually called the manufacter of All Small and Mighty about this exact question several months ago.

You can use the HE products in a regular washer and get the same results as regular detergent. The strengths are the same, however, the HE detergent will not have as many suds.

I was asking because my favorite scent at CVS only comes in HE.

this is good to know! I see tide HE on clearance sometimes at target. I guess a lot of people don't have HE washers around here.

I use the HE Tide because it was on sale in my regular washing machine. I DON'T LIKE IT!!!! It sounds funny but my clothes don't have that fresh smell anymore. I will probably not buy it again.
