a couple ideas i haven't seen mentioned yet.

rain barrel - love mine, seems to work, my water billed can't get any cheaper, and came in really handy when we were in a drought situation a couple years ago and i wanted to keep my flowers

check with your electric company to see when the "cheap" rates are. that's when i run the dishwasher, washer, dryer. typically the lower rates are early morning, later at night and depending on the time of year around lunchtime.

LeighBo: he mentioned getting it at Lowe's or Home Depot and something between $80-$00 kllydnvn's in-law's got quite a deal if their power company gave it to them for free!

Default Just trying to get input on good deals...

I used to be on another site, that charges (to tell you the deals). Then I heard about Couponmom.com from money mogul Dave Ramsey on his show on Foxmoney network. He plugged her. But the other site had a message board, and many people would post good deals, gripes with companies or customer service etc.

******Moderator's Note***** Sorry that is a competing site.

okay, sorry, I didn't know it was a competing site.

What is your recipe for your own detergent if you could share? Also I found out that you can use vinegar for fabric softner...I have been doing that today after I found out about it..Also I saw about the cleaning with the vinegar. works good for cleaning the drains in the sink..

Ok I am addicted now to the couponing and now getting addicted to the frugal living. AM I getting cheap???? I ask myself that..but I tell you that now I see how we have all done here and I rather the money in my pocket for 4 wheeling or hunting than to have to buy cleaning products all the time and letting all these companies make the money when this other stuff works just as good if not better...

Check the "Recipes" thread. There was a recent post in there with a recipe.

Also a lot of different variations if you google 'homemade laundry detergent'
