i still use my 15 yr old bread machine.. i guess it was correctly named welbilt. now i'm making a loaf of sourdough and it smells so yummy. cooked a beef roast yesterday so we will have sandwiches. i buy the cheapest roasts, never over 1,99/lb and cook them real slow so they always are as tender and taste as good as expensive cuts. and the meat is so much better than deli meat, w/ no preservatives. i'm getting hungry.

We were here in Slidell. In fact, we had just moved from St. Bernard Parish so we were fortunate that our subdivision didn't flood. My entire family lost everything. My husband and I owned hot dog and lemonade stands in Six Flags and it was a total loss! Although we didn't lose our personal belongings, the way of life was so different and hard. Our Walmarts are still not open 24 hrs yet and houses are still left deserted! My husband had to find a job and I stayed home with the kids because school hours were different. My highschooler went from 6:30 -11:30 because another high school had to go in the afternoon. They didn't even go back to school until October. My youngest still doesn't sleep out since then, it just totally scared her. But anyway, life goes on so we have to make the best of what tomorrow brings!
