No pattern.. DH just measured from the back wall to the front. To about as far forward as we could go. The measured the side walls across..

Then we went to Homedepot and the guy there said we could get 5 shelves out of one board. It would be 19.2 inches..Or we could have bought another board to get 6 shelves or make them even smaller at 18 inches and get 6 boards from one sheet. But I wanted them as deep as possible. So we went with 5 at 19.2 in. and it worked out great. There is enough space between them that I can get tall stuff and he kinda staggered them. Some are closer then others..

It was VERY simple anyone can do it !
They cut them for us and everything. That is no charge..
The most time consuming thing was hanging the L brackets !

DH said before you leave the house one day or whenever measure your closet yourself. Then when you just happen to be out. tell your DH that if he puts them up you will buy them..Then run to HomeDepot while you are already out and about !
