Default Weight Loss Encouragement thread!

Here's the idea:

State a goal, whether it be pounds lost, exercise gained, or even just fitting into a certain piece of clothing.

Next step, make a pledge to reach your goal.

Last step, post daily (if you can) on progress and things you've done to get there. If you fall off your plan, that's what we are all here for.. to help motivate you, encourage you, so we can all be successful with this!

I'd like to state a goal of losing 15 pounds. I hope to accomplish this by both limiting my calorie intake to less than 1500 per day, and by adding in a bit more movement out of my office chair. Before the snow hit, I was at least getting outside to walk the dog, and we take some marathon 1 and 2 mile walks! However, we have an abundance of empty homes and uncleared sidewalks, so it's a little tough. I'm troubled to report that I couldn't walk a mile today if I wanted to.

Now, just because I am going to post calories and specific exercises, does NOT mean that you have to do the same to participate. We all have different comfort levels and goals. The point of this is to help share your triumphs, confess your (perhaps chocolately) sins, etc.

I'd partnered up with others prior in doing this and it really had an effect on me, reading the labels, adding it up, and being honest with myself about my lack of exercise and overindulgence

OK Marla I said I hang with you so here we go.

I guess I'd like to loose another 10 or 20 pounds but my main goal is just to eat healthy and exercise.

I made a lifestyle change nearly 2 years ago and I just want to stick to that.

I try to get 30 - 45 cardio each day by riding a recumbent bike.

I don't count calories as a general rule, I just watch what I eat. Works better for me. Now on occasion I will feel the need for some reason to do calories and I will for a few days---maybe it's my internal tracking system that kicks in.

Jump on board.

And LITSA can you go ahead and sticky.

Default Count me in!

I would so totally love to have some "girlfriend" encouragement to help get more healthy...the DH is great, but can't be brutally honest when he need to be!

I'm hoping to go back to my sisters' house this summer and would love to be 25 pounds lighter than when she saw me at Christmas. I can hardly wait for consistantly warm weather to get the bikes out and ride again with the kids. I also want to find a walking partner to keep me motivated. Counting calories has NEVER been high on my list--too much other stuff to do. Maybe someone can work a spreadsheet to show our coupon savings on one side and our pounds lost on the other?? Wouldn't that be great...see our OOP and weight decreasing at the same rate??!

Lightbulb What a great idea!

Goal: To lose 50 pounds. I may add more later, but for now.. we will stay with 50.

Plan: I am doing a South Beach type of plan that is slightly modified by my doctor. Basically high lean protein, very low carb (mostly from a little fruit, brown rice and only 100% whole wheat items), and some beans.
Also, to exercise 30mins everyday.

I have been following the plan (OK so not as hard as I should) and I have lost 35 pounds since Nov. of 2008. Now on to the next 50!

I think this is super. Reality is most of aren't perfect at the things we try. That you have followed the plan imperfectly is human I think.

I am so in! I for the first time have a weight loss resolution (little depressed by it) and have been doing really well.

I set my goal to loose 50 lbs by June 1 (60 lbs as a bonus). To meet this goal I have really jus cut out all snacking! The month of December I kept a food diary and saw exactly how much junk I ate so I cut all of that out! And I'm proud to say it has def paid off! I have lost 10 lbs already and I can already see and feel a difference!

I think the encouragement of another female friend is a lot different than when a man does it! So I'm excited to share and encourage my fellow coupon women!

Let the games begin! Good Luck everyone!

I'm here too. I started last January and have lost 32 lbs from January until May 2008. I maintained that weight loss and now I am ready to move on and lose another 30. I went from a size 20w to a 14 so I have made progress but there is more to lose.

I follow a Weight Watchers diet online and I work out at least 5 days a week - I do Jazzercise every weekday morning. I belong to a fitness center also and need to get more strict and make myself go to weight train at least 3 days a week. I have to work on that.

I'm glad this got started!

I am def. in!! I am getting married in 3 months and I bought 2 wedding dresses that are both a size too small (retail value $1,800 : clearence price $298.00 for BOTH!!) Tell me you would not have gotten both!! But, now I need to fit into them. I can get them on and zipped 3/4 of the way (my bust is the issue); so I need to loose about 10 lbs in 3 months OR I will be wearing jeans to my wedding. I will post my plan tomorrow.

I'm in!! My mother runs half-marathons as well as full marathons. So, my goal is to follow the half-marathon training plan she gave me. I also want to start adding more veggies and fruit into my daily routine.
