Congrats on your 5lbs!
I am wanting to get one of those things at the dick's sporting good where it is just the pedals and no bike..You can use your own seat and save hundreds. I think it cost close to $50..

Welcome new people! Good luck everyone!!!
WTG Dyanna, looks like you had a great day!
Naynay: I've made this mistake in the past, not buying new things because I wanted to lose weight. A few years ago, I dropped about 20 pounds. Just prior to that, I had basically replaced the bulk of my wardrobe in the larger size. I really think that having nice new things really motivated me a little to keep on going with the weight loss.

When I dropped the weight, I bundled up all those clothes and gave to a very deserving woman on freecycle. It made her day! I've been picking up a few clearanced things here and there for myself even though I don't want them in this size. I figure I'll feel better now and help someone else down the road

My tally for 1-24:
coffee, 120 cals
2 apples, 160
1 c grapes 50? cals
3 servings Chex Mix/Cheerios Mix: ~350 cals
1 turkey sandwich, just pickles/lettuce, 350
1 Fiber plus bar, 130
Baked Cheetos, about 200 cals worth
4, yes 4 single little McD's Fries

Just under 1400 for the day.

Exercise... well, I was determined when I woke up. I hurt my back something awful while cleaning. Gosh I love being old, all I did was sit down on the floor for 20 minutes to sort through a basket of paperwork and when I stood up, my lower back had immense pain. I toughed it out to take a kid to a birthday party, sneezed really hard in the car, and I think it multiplied the pain by 5. I almost veered off the road it hurt so bad.

I can barely walk at the moment. Motrin, heating pad, hot shower... hoping this all feels better today If I feel better today I still plan on taking it easy.

Well I decided I'm going to do a weekly post instead of everyday if thas fine!?

When I started my diet plans I purchased some of the slim quick shots and when I tell you works it really works! It comes in a two pack and your supposed to drink both in the same day but I can't! Only bc Mountain Dew is like a energy shot for me so these things are a lil extreme! I drink one at the beginning of every week! And if anyone is wondering there is no crashing AT ALL! I find that it's just enough boost to get me going at the beginning of the week, also it does help in all the areas that women have trouble in. I have only lost about 13 lbs but I can see the difference mainly in my stomach which is usually the last place to change!

I have had a good weeks so far. I don't wiegh myself often. Only once every 2 weeks so I'm not sure if I've lost anything from this week. My daily meals consist of:

Breakfast
High Fiber Instant Quaker Oatmeal
Glass of Milk/OJ
Piece of Fruit

Lunch
Fresh Green Salad (going to try Spinach Mix this week)
Italian Dressing
Piece of lean meat (usually Grilled Skinless Chicken Breast on top of salad)

Dinner
Lean Meat
Veggies

I don't include a snack unless me having something to drink or a piece of sugar free gum doesn't help beat the craving. I also stopped eating after 8pm, even if I get hungry I get a tall glass of Grapefruit/Cranbery Juice or V8 Splash but never any food. Of course it gets boring eating the same thing everyday but this way I know what I am having and it's easier for me to plan meals(saving money and time)! Also, with me just getting my own place it allows me to teach myseld how to cook new things so it's fun at the same time!

Just thought I would share my progress. I hope everyone is doing well with thier goals! Have Great Week

It's great to see the participation here and the weight loss that is already happening.

My participation remains just being on a healthy regimen. And everything is still going as I like it.

I didn't bike today, boo me.

I agree with eating more meals. I started a program a little over a year ago, and have hit a 50lb weight loss. I found that keeping my calories around 1400 and eating 5-6 times a day worked best for me. I feel sometimes like I eat all the time, but about every 2-3 hours I have either a piece of fruit or a 100 calorie snack pack and that keeps me going and I don't really every feel really hungry. Those times when I'm cooking dinner and I'm hungry (this is my hardest part of my day) I chew some gum and that gets me through and also help me from not eating larger portions. I'm just over a year in and about 12lbs from my goal and I still lost 7lbs over Christmas.

I also use my treadmill 2-3 times a week and was lucky enough to have a family I work with sell me their Total Gym for $30!! I use that 2-3 times per week. So total I workout 4-5x's per week.

Good luck everyone!!! I wish I had something like this when I had gotten started, it's great to have all the support.

WOW congrats on the 50lbs. That is amazing I bet you feel ike a new person !
Any tips you could give would be great!
How many pounds would you say you lost per week?

We have a total gym in the closet and we never use it. For one I don't have the room and two I think it is very cumbersone to use. Other than laying on my back and pulling myself up I never did anything else. DH was better at using the thing. It came with the straps to do legs and I always felt like it was going to rip me apart !

I am so thrilled this thread has taken off Yay to everyone!

My tally for 1-25:
coffee, 120
2 apples, 160
a whole lotta grapes, ~150
1 Fiber Plus bar, 130
Due to bad back, dh made me lunch. He made me Campbell's chicken soup, and I think he forgot to add water? so maybe I politely ate 25 cals worth
Also due to bad back, dd made lunch for all the kids and brought me a plate with about 15 baked french fries, so maybe 50 cals there?
Taco salad for dinner - just salad mix, beef, some smashed doritos, 1 roma tomato and some 2% shredded cheese ~500 cals
1 glass of Pepsi, about 150 cals (I normally drink diet if I have this, but we were out, so I don't normally tally up)
3 very small cookies (ds brought them to me), 200 cals
Dh also made me some hot tea, which he experimented with honey and cranberry juice. It was interesting. Maybe, eh 30 cals?

Just about 1500 for the day. It could have been more considering the rate my sweet family was bringing me food

I did remember my vitamin and also drank about 40 ounces of water.

Absolutely no exercise. My back was still in pretty rough shape. It about killed me to go up the stairs to use the restroom.

I am happy to report that this morning I am feeling 90% better! My lower back is still slightly sore, but nothing like it was yesterday. Yay!

Today my plan is to take it easy. I'm thinking I can handle some housework and laundry and maybe some stretches. I am working a 4 hour shift in which I anticipate minimal work, so maybe I'll find some arm exercises to do from my office chair!

Here is to a better week for me! I spent the weekend on the couch recovering from strep throat and bronchitis. No exercise, but not much food either--couldn't taste it, so why eat it?!?!?!?

Mama4monsters, thanks for the berry smoothie recipe, I can hardly wait for the ripe, fresh fruit to come into season! Although, the frozen is good too and my girls loved it!! Hopefully some of my better eating habits and exercise will help my girls from becoming what I did.

My goals for the week...
-start counting points with Weight Watchers
-3 30 minute walks
-2 15 sessions jump roping with daughters

Contrats everyone on last week!!

Default Weight Loss

OK.. Ladies I am in....
I visited a weight loss clinic here is Vegas.. January 13,2009...
Starting Weight 200.4 lbs... (I cringe as I am writing this..YUCK)
(I am 5'10 tall)
My Goal weight-160 lbs... Where I was before having a baby.

With my weight loss plan.. I am getting I shot per week of vitamin B12.. I would highly recommend this. I love it.. I have alot more energy and have notice a curb in appetite.. I am also taking phentermine 15mg.(low dose) one time per day around 12pm daily. help to curb appetite. Is working well.

I also follows weight watcher flex plan. Works well for me. I love there breakfast option. great for being on the go.. I weight myself one time per week. I am way to cheap to go pay 15.00 to have some random person tell me I am still FAT

I am exercising 2/3 times per week.. Either a Pilate's class or elliptical machine.Plus running around all day after 2 kids.

Current Weight- 194.3
Loss To Date-6.1 YEAH

My goal was to make a lifestyle change.. Controlling portions with weight watchers. I wanted a plan that would fit my "on the go lifestyle".. This seems to work. While the phentermine pills are temporary.. I will continue the B12 even once all my weight has come off.
