I am starting a weight loss program next month. I want to lose a total of 30-40 pounds. I am thinking about doing low carb for a few weeks to give me a jump start and then switching to balanced eating/calories counting. Is anyone on low carb still? I've heard you can lose a good chunk of weight fast. Never done this before and really could use suggestions. Thanks!

I have tried teh low card thing- It works! But I love my carb foods. So I jsut gain the weight right back. But, 2 weeks ago I went and bought a colon cleanse and an Acai berry- I have lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I saw this on Rachel Ray and on OPrah with Dr. OZ- I hope this continues to work.

I want to know if that is a weight loss that stays or goes right back on because I have heard about it and wanted to try but a, still skeptical.

About the water...I too hated water. I loved soda and sweet tea. I still have not given up my coffee, but otherwise I drink exclusively water. I have to make sure I have ice on hand and usually either lemons or limes for flavor. Sometimes I add some Crystal Light in there to change things up but I don't like using it too often. As long as it is ice cold and sometimes with flavor I have actually come to enjoy water and if I don't get the about 200 oz a day that I have been drinking I can tell the difference.

A note about progress. I have lost a total of 9 lbs, 2 dress sizes, 3.5" in my waist and 2" in my hips. My legs are not changing measurements yet but I have def. seen a transformation of toned muscle where there was cellulite. I can def. live with that. I am making progress. Hopefully I can drop another dress size or two before christmas (since that is my birthday.) I want to feel good about getting older this year, lol.

Good luck to all in their mission for health and weight loss!

Default I lost 80 pounds this year!

Hello everyone!

I lost 80 pounds this year and still have a little more to go. I was so impressed with the weight loss program that I went to work for the company. I am a nurse and a Certified Health Coach.

Hi everyone! Just read thru this forum and it rocks!

I have joined Weight Watchers and so far lost seven lbs! This isn't the first time I've joined but this time I'm going to get to my goal weight! The meetings really help me because our leader is SOOO funny and real, she knows exactly what we're all going thru and tells it like it is, with alot of emphasis on humor!! I haven't ever been big on exercise but have been walking with my dog alot lately. Maybe I'll get motivated to try some other exercise also

Default losing weight

I totally need some encouragement about this whole losing weight thing!

I am on medication that is NOT helping me to lose weight but I keep trying...kind of discouraging.

I have two little guys not quite two years apart and am struggling so much with getting the weight off from the pregnancies.

My goals are 1. up my activity level (I'd like to try doing some activity at least 5 days a week) & 2. lose 30 lbs

I have been trying to eat right as well but it's not always easy. I am eating lots of Special K right now and really watching what else I eat so that is a victory

Hope the rest of you are doing well with your goals!

BUMP!

Move complete. Did I burn any calories doing the move??? Sorry to barge in here...was advised this stcky was here and that we should move. Anyone interested in our non-competetive challenge is welcomed to join!

So, I guess all of us healthy for the holidays people will post here. Well, of course and the "lurker" with the cholesterol in the 300s too!! (Side note, I agree...cholesterol meds have got to go though I usually forget to take mine hence the lifestyle overhaul).

I plan on starting Wednesday. I am probably going to try Weight Watchers (again) as I think it best fits my situation. My goal is to make it to the gym at the YMCA at least twice for 45 minutes before Sunday. I will also pledge to drink 32 ounces of water daily going forward. Anyone else care to share their plans, goals, etc. and what they might need for encouragement and accountability?

Default "lurker" checking in here as well

determined.... I mozied on over as well

just wanted to say I've been drinking a cup of hot water with 1/2 lemon squeezed into it first thing in the am (it helps the liver flush toxins) off and on for years and I always feel better when I do this.....

I'm going to be starting back on the Fat Flush Plan....lost 30 lbs on it 5 years ago and it is very reasonable....FREE.....you can get the book at the library and there is an online support group.....

back to lurking......

Smile Losing Weight

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this type of communication, wanted to put into writing somewhere that I want to lose a few pounds with a radical new approach to dieting. I'm going to call it the "No Face" diet. If the product came from something that had a face, I will not include that into my diet. This might take alittle while to get adjusted to, and I would just like a place to document my successes along with my down falls. I am going to the gym to get myself weighed and begin my 30 minutes of cardio three times a week. I will just have to see where this will take me.
