I usually don't follow all the gossip either but at CVS the magazines are near the register so I'm always seeing the headlines and I get curious once in a while... I do like the show but my mom and I always comment on how mean Kate usually is to Jon and how we're surprised he puts up with it and then all this happens... I think we're a little off topic here...

Yay! Down 15lbs!!! I am back walking 1 one mile and plan to start doing 2 miles today!!! I know this sounds weird, but we are here for support, right? I am at that pont where friends and family have started to figure out that I am dieting it makes me so nervous!! I always seem to fail, and then I look stupid to everyone or I feel pressured by the questions... I am going to the in-laws tonight and I am starting to feel the stress and that makes me want to eat!!! Thanks for the support!

That doesn't sound stupid at all, just insightful. I know how you feel. With many failed diets in the past, it makes one feel vulnerable; it also is personal and not really a topic you want to discuss with everyone. For tonight, just try to be unobtrusive about what you're eating/not eating. Fly under the radar, if you can. If anyone brings it up, perhaps you can just make a light comment and change subject. Don't let their expectations derail you - you are being successful at this and doing a really good job!
There are so many layers to the whole food issue. I do okay during the day and struggle more in the evening. I realize that I get pretty anxious when not overeating.

I need to lose 20lbs. I have a family reunion in July so I used that as my target date...problem is I keep eating. Jeez! I'm eating a Pop Tart right now! I went off my Weight Watchers diet and gained about 10lbs. I was much heavier; I went from a 16 to an 8 but it's this last 20lbs I can't seem to shake off! What bugs me is when people say I look good and don't need to lose. Yes I look fine in clothes but not out of them! I paid for a gym membership but never bothered to go and sign up officially. All I want is to be toned...I want abs and a butt that doesn't painfully bobble up and down when I run! LOL! Is that asking too much?

Default Can I join in the fun too?

Ok, to help make myself more accountable, I decided to post here. I need to lose about 20-25 pounds. I would like to lose 30 but I'm starting with 20. So this week I started walking again. My excuse or reason was that the dog needed exercise too. LOL!!! So anyway, he gets so excited when he sees my walking shoes. And, my son, who is usually attached to some sort of electronic gadget has decided to ride his bike while his poor ole' mom walks. We are now up to three miles. It about kicks my butt and every night I say that I can't walk that far but once I get going I make myself walk it. Plus he's with me and we're chatting. I've really enjoyed that part of it because he's soon to be 13 and well you now how teenagers can be. I've really enjoyed our time together. Plus he thinks his little sister who is 6 gets all the attention. She doesn't go with us so I think he enjoys it too. Ok - that's off topic a bit but just wanted to share ALL that I'm getting out of the exercise. I do not have a scale so I'm not sure how to post my progress!!

I need to lose weight too...more than I can believe...it creeps up on you. Couponing is not helping with weight loss...too many cheep goodies. Chocolate, chips, cookies, brownie and cake mixes, pasta, sauce, premade fattening stuff are so cheap with coupons. Wish there were more lean meat and produce q's.

I'm going to try to give you a new perspective:
With all the money you are saving, you now can afford to buy more fresh fruits/veggies, etc. But I agree, they always put the junk on sale!! But you can sometimes find water!! You can do it!! I also use some of my extra money on smoothies. Those are healthy and much better than milk shakes when you are in the mood for a sweet treat.

Hey thanks for the support. I miss being in shape, for sure. Working 5 days and raising the kiddos...it's easy to let myself go when I'm worried about taking care of them. But, I guess if I have time to be on here, I have time to go exercise. Or grab some extra fruit or lean meat. Now if it would only stop raining here every day and warm up again....
