Question about Jewel's buy $30 sale

Hi! I'm new to couponing and I have a question about Jewel's current sale where you can buy $30 worth of Bounty, Tide or Charmin and then get $15 off your next shopping trip. Which price triggers the $30 limit - is it the preferred card price or the non-preferred card price? I heard a rumor from a good source that it was the non-preferred card price and I wanted to know if that was true before I went to the store. So for instance, the Charmin is on sale with the preferred card for $12.99...without the preferred card it is $17.99. So would I need to buy two or three packages to reach the $30 limit and trigger the $15 in coupons?

I haven't looked at the new ad yet but usually it goes buy what you paid before coupons and the preferred card price is only relevant if you do not have a preferred card.

I mean, what you are saying is it the non-preferred card price but I do not see how you would get this benefit as you having your preferred card scanned, right? Thus how you would be paying the preferred card price of $12.99 yet getting credit for $17.99? I do not see that happening unless there is an error with this sale causing it.

I can see how that could be triggered...cuz it does ring up regular, then your preferred savings...

I did this deal on Friday and it was on the shelf price, so BEFORE Preferred Savings are applied.

Now, I know that last time they did this deal like this it stayed that way until about midway thru the sale then Jewel got wise and reprogrammed some of their computers to calculate it at Preferred Card prices.

But as of today, I believe they are still at pre-card prices.

So like I said, there is a error with the sale generating giving credit where credit is not due. Interesting....


Just a confirm that this deal does work on the non-preferred prices. Just made when I checked I had the cashier ring everything out before scanning my card so I could make sure it hit $30(before tax - made that mistake on the 1st transaction and had to do it all over again).

Will probably head back tomorrow for another round.
