Default Keep using Ingles or switch to Publix

    Hi everyone,

As of right now Ingles is 1 out of the 3 grocery stores I have in my town. I usually don't have problems with them and accepting coupons (just have to make sure I spend $10 before using 3 q's). Anyways I've heard that publix is way better and although I don't have one in my town I do commute 85 miles into the city where there is like 4 on my way home everyday. I thought about starting to shop at one. I wanted to see if the coupon policy and deals are any better then ingles?

I LOVE my Publix! It's the only grocery store I shop at usually.

They double Q's up to 50 cents, their BOGO deals are great, there are no coupon limits AND they take competitor's coupons. I strongly encourage you to give them a try.

I do not have Ingles where I am in GA that I know of, but people I know that have one seem to dislike shopping there.

Nerdy's got it right. Publix is so much easier to figure out, no algebra required to double coupons (I swear with the rules some of the Ingles cashiers make up on the spot it's more like a logarithm or negative exponent or something), they just automatically double right there at the register. AND ... if an item costs under 50c, and you have a B1G1, when the coupon scans you get BOTH free. AND ... they issue their own store coupons, see the publix website for printables, so when there is a MFG Q plus a Publix Q you can use both on the same item, even if it makes the item free. My vote is for Publix even if it takes a little planning.
ISO any vegetarian brands like Boca, Morningstar, Tofurky
Any B1G1 economy brand dog/cat food (all donated to local shelter)
    Beneful dog food
Any toothpaste, toothbrush, shave cream, razor
    Any seafood item
    Any Greek yogurt

A town I used to live near had these stores all at one intersection - a Publix on one corner, a Kroger on another corner, and an Ingles across the road on the other corner. This is what you would see at both peak and non peak shopping days and times.
The Publix would have a totally full parking lot and be crowed with people.
The Kroger's parking lot would be about 75% full (and the same inside - brisk but not quite as crowed as Publix )
.. And at Ingles... the parking lot would be nearly empty and if you went into it - you literally had the whole store to yourself.

Ingles has some absolutely beautiful stores etc ( and I know on occasion - they do the triple coupon thing ) but Publix ,IMO, beats them hands down in so many ways. Customer service, coupon deals , you name it.

Thank you for all the feedback. I put my list together today and printed out this weeks deals and unadvertised deals for Publix. I plan to stop by tomorrow on my way home and I'm totally excited about it. Seems like I will be getting some decent deals tomorrow.
