Unhappy Where do the "AFTER additional $10 purchase" items come from?

I've been using the HEB list here for six months, and none of my many HEBs EVER know anything about any of the items on the list that end with the words "AFTER additional $10 purchase".

Where does the person that makes up this list get this from? I've tried buying them to see if the discount rings up automatically and it never does. In the past I tried buying apple juice and frozen pizza listed this way and they did not ring up at the price on the list, and nothing was deducted from the total, either.

Here are the items on the list for this week, the list has N/A indicating there is no coupons for these:

N/A Bushs Best Baked or Grillin Beans 21-28 oz~limit 5, price shown AFTER additional $10 purchase
N/A HEB Creamy Creations Premium Ice Cream 1 pint~limit 5, price shown AFTER additional $10 purchase
N/A Beef T Bone Steaks, per lb~limit 2, price shown AFTER additional $10 purchase
N/A HEB Bake Shop Hamburger Buns 8 ct or Hot Dog Buns 8 ct~limit 5, price shown AFTER additional $10 purchase
N/A Blue Bell Ice Cream 1 pint~limit 5, price shown AFTER additional $10 purchase
N/A Pepsi, Diet Pepsi or Lipton Tea 1.5-2 liter~limit 5, price shown AFTER additional $10 purchase
N/A Central Market Organics Steamable Vegetables 12 oz~limit 5, price shown AFTER additional $10 purchase

List says these are all $1 except for the steaks which are #4.77.

Please help - I can't really argue my case at the store when all I have to back me up is the Coupon Mom list!

I have the same question. I never see those "After $10 purchase..." in my HEB (San Antonio). Can someone at Coupon Mom clarify. I've just been ignoring those items.

It's coming up on two weeks since I asked, and at the time I asked in the "Need Help" thread for whoever does the HEB lists to come to this thread and answer the question, but haven't heard anything....

Do you check your sales ad? I always check my ad to make sure it corresponds with what is on cm. The ad will tell you the amount you need to spend in order to get the items at the price that's listed. If the items you stated were all a dollar then you would have to spend $10 to get the items at that price otherwise they will ring up at regular price. A few weeks ago they had Old Orchard Apple Juice for 5 for $5 or $1 each with a $10 additional purchase and the limit was 5. So in order to get the 10 that i wanted I used separate transactions. So I suggest checking the ad and making sure their are not limits because then the items will just ring up at the regular price. HTH

I guess I neglected to mention that. I NEVER see these offers in my HEB flyers and the checkers/managers have NEVER heard of them. That's why I asked where the list maker finds them. That Old Orchard Apple Juice was exactly the deal I was trying to get last time around and I had met the $10 additional purchase and got only 5 (the limit) and they rang up at a much higher price than the price on the CM list.

This week's list (June 22-28) only has two of these deals:

Beef Brisket, per lb~limit 2, final price shown AFTER $10 additional purchase
    Kellogg's Eggo Waffles 10 ct~limit 5, price shown AFTER additional $10 purchase

I looked at each and every item in the flyer, not only are these deals not in my ad, but Kellogg's Eggo Waffles aren't even in the ad at all. The fully-cooked HEB-brand brisket is the meal deal, otherwise there is no other beef brisket in the ad.

I didn't think HEB would offer the deals in some areas and not others, but I guess that's the problem. I'm sure it would save other people embarassment if they noted that somewhere on the list. I live in Austin.

Thanks for commenting so I know we're not crazy! I guess nobody else is going to help us!

I wishI could help but I don't have HEB. I will be visiting my son next week in College Station so I would like to know how to shop while I'm there. I usually end up cooking the whole time I visit so i'll need to find some deals.

I'm sorry...I still don't get the deal. This week beef steak is on sale and it is not on the ad. It's so confusing, lol.

I didn't see this when you originally posted. I actually did the Bush's Beans deal that week, and I didn't realize it was Buy Additional $10 either until check out. I had run in one afternoon to get them, and the cashier told me. That's all I was buying because I had already bought groceries over the weekend, so I told her I didn't see that in the ad...she pulled out the ad and in very small print, there it was. I explained to her they had been out over the weekend, so she overrode it and gave them to me for $1 each - limit 5.

If you didn't see the items in your ad, you may have different ads than we do and the ones CM is obviously using. I am outside Houston BTW.

Also, just a side note...I live in an area with about 5 Kroger stores. If I go north of Westheimer/FM 1093, the stores there will usually have the same items on sale, but LESS than the stores than are on the south side of Westheimer/FM 1093. I am not kidding! I went to one store to buy items, and thought I was going crazy. I put the items back because they just were not the prices I was expecting. A few days later I was at a different store, and the items were priced exactly like I had expected...so, when I got home, I got online and looked up the sales ads for the different locations and confirmed it! I couldn't believe it! I wonder how many people think the stores are all priced the same!!?? The ads are identical except for the subtle differences in prices.

With that being said, you may want to get on heb.com and look up the sales ads for an area around me - use zip code 77494 - Fry Rd. location and compare it to your ad.
