    Default Meal deals

Do you get the meals deals that are at heb?
I found sometimes the deals are not really deals at all.

    Default Meal Deals

I guess it depends on the deal and if I need the free items. I always stock up on the back to school deal with the ham and turkey and cheese etc...I put it in the freezer and usualy lasts me at least half the school year. But I check the prices very carefully, if I do not need the free items, I do not buy it, as it seems the items you have to pay for are higher priced to make up for the free stuff.

I also think a lot of the items are unhealthy such as soda and chips. We really do not buy many of those.

Are we able to use a manufacturer's coupon along with these deals?

I buy them if we like the stuff - like this week they have brisket which we normally never buy, but I let myself indulge cause of the free stuff that comes with.

Talking A Wonderful Trip To HEB

One Sunday afternoon I took my moma grocery shopping. A lady friend from church gives me her unused HEB bux for the pantry. I had $6 worth that day that she had given me. I really needed to get cereal for the pantry and intended to pay the difference at check-out. I was giddy as a school girl when I saw those yellow store coupons saying the buyer could get $1 off of their brand of instant oatmeal. They were priced at $1.99. I grabbed about 6 or 7 boxes (I forget just how many). I had one yellow coupon for each box!! And I had coupons from moma for some dry cereal. Cereal is one hard item for pantries to get and this was truly a blessing.
There is alot of discussion of donating coupons to food pantries, but why not HEB bux? Don't let them expire because you haven't used them, pass them along. They are a big help.

Default Yeah, what are HEB bux??

First, I almost never buy the meal deals because I don't use the free stuff and it is mostly junk food. I'll have to look on the HEB website about the bux. I DO recommend printing off an HEB grocery list from their website. LOVE them! They cut down my shopping time by at least half. I can also post it on the fridge and everyone in the house can check off if we're running low on something.

I usually do my shopping at HEB. I don't find their prices are much different than Wal Mart. I stake out the board at the store and grab the yellow coupons that I need. I don't usually get the meal deals. I may shop at Wal Mart next month to get a comparison or Target. Usually I only shop once a month, with occasional trips to pick up produce.
