Default I don't understand the math!

I am reading the Greatest Secrets of the coupon mom and I just don't get the part on page 49-50 that says:

.....For ex: this store doubles coupons up to 99 cents, so the Keebler cookies'75 cent coupon is actually worth 1.50 off two packages.

If I buy two packages of cookies and have one coupon that says 75 off two, (and my store doubles up to .99) then aren't I just saving .99 cents on the two?

This makes no sense to me...but math was never my strong suit, lol

    Fess2,

I believe the store will double a coupon that is up to .99 face value. If the coupon is .99 then store will double to 1.98.

My store doubles up to $0.99, which here means a $0.75 coupon becomes worth $1.50 and the elusive $0.99 coupon would be worth $1.98. So you would save $1.50 on the two packages in my area.

Columbus Ohio stores: Kroger, Giant Eagle, and Meijer, all double to $0.99.

I may be reading this all wrong but going to throw my two cents in. Stores double coupons "that have a value" of 99 cents or less. If it is a 75 cent coupon then it "doubles to $1.50", it does not "double to 99 cents". Hope that helps fess2
