I only buy Freshsteps, but that's just me. They have a rewards program that I like. If I can't get it cheap, I get it at Sam's Club, $15.xx for 40 lbs, I think?

Of all the kitty litter that I've tried and used, I like Fresh step and scoop away the most, esp if you want scoopable. Plus with Fresh Step, you earn points which can be traded for litter coupons, toys etc. Tidy cats would be my 3rd choice. I hated arm and hammer cat litter, feline pine, and the paper chip kinds. I usually buy scoop away or fresh step(they're about the same) for multiples instead of scented as my vet recommended me not to use scented. Hope this helps you. P.S. Sometimes when a cat gets used to a certain litter, it can be hard for them to get used to a new one, as cats don't like change.

I used to buy the scoopable stuff but hated the dust and tracking. I now use feline pine and love it! I think there is still a rebate available on their website. I think it limits the urine smell really well. Just IMO.

Scoopable is the only way to go. Cleaning the box daily is a must.

I just got Cat's Pride 14 lb jug for $5.99 less $1 MQ.

Love Tidy Cat Scoopable. I think almost any brand of scoopable is great. With the "reg" cat litter, you have to wash out the box way too often to prevent odors. I've have cats for 18 years, and everyone that comes is shocked when they find out because I never have an odor problem with the scoopable.

Thanks for all the input. I'll see what I can find tomorrow. My little one is being great about cleaning the box. Scoopable seems like the way to go. I know I've seen some q's out there. I guess I'll google for some now.

We used Scoop Away for a long time but tried Arm and Hammer b/c I had a q. We love it. We have 5 cats and I scoop the boxes several times a day but it really controls the odor even if I miss a scoop. It is dusty and it does track but so did the scoop away. It's just cheaper in my area and I often get catalinas for it at my store.

I agree with the scoopable thing, none of that non scoopable clay thing UGH UGH UGH

I have 2 cats and i find that with Fresh step (the only one ive used in past 5 months) odor is minimal to none and I make sure to clean at LEAST once within 24 hours. and be sure to get any of the little bits that might break off bigger chunks of scoopable urine or feces... just imagine yourself going to the bathroom and having to find a clean spot to go potty in and if not, you're tracking it all over the house on the furniture and floors making things unsanitary :P:P:P

scoop away/fresh step is available at costco 50lbs for I thin 40 or 50 lbs? they also send out q's here and there for 2.50 off so that makes it very economical. Also, as mentioned I love the rewards program with fresh step

oh and CONGRATULATIONS on the kitty
