Start by reading couponmom's ebooks on saving money at drug stores and super market strategies. Look around for coupons (check the Sunday paper, magazines, ask friends and family, co-workers, neighbors if they mind sharing -- they may even be willing to give them to you.) Check out couponmom's recommended sites for printing coupons.
Read the forums, ask questions, ask more questions, keep asking. CAMP out in the forum area. Take advantage of what the expert shoppers tell us they are doing. Organize your coupons, take them to every store with you, and use them.
It will get easier the more you read and the more you do this.

on a different note....what's dr phil talking about paper products for?
paper products go on sale all the time, so never buy them when they are not on sale. example scott paper towels $11 for an 8 pack....crazy, would never in a million years pay that. kmart had them on special during dbl week for 5.50an 8 pack, then you had the 1.00q that dbld, so 3.50 for an 8 pack, that's a good stock up deal for me
Because of coupons, my mother-in-law and i finally have something in commom.
I just bought chinet plates 44 count normal price 2.69 had a $1.00 coupon my store will double so made the the price .69. Thats a great price in my book considering we use paper plates like crazy and they r heavy duty.
My rule of thumb on paper products (and HBA products for that matter):
ALWAYS buy on sale, and ALWAYS combine the sale price with a coupon (or two). And if you buy at CVS, try to get ECB back on the purchase.
"Camp Out"--so THAT'S what I'm doing every night!! I don't even watch the tube anymore...
I only buy if they are less than 1/2 price. Recently Walgreens had Vanity Fair napkins for 75% off, and I had a few Qs. Got several 40 ct. packs for .25 - .50. Recently got Chinet for BOGO, had $1 Q for each, AND a sticky for free napkins with purchase. Keep your Qs ready at all times, and wait for the sales!
flmomoftwo, that was an outstanding deal! I have not been able to cash in on deals for paper products in a long tme. Good for you!!
ECB is the Extra Care Bucks that CVS has where you can earn money/coupons toward purchases. It can be huge savings; just watch the sizing on their boxes as sometimes the deal is not as good as it appears (at least I have found w/ some of their boxed items being much smaller). Hope that helps! It is easy to sign up too if you have not done so.
