I recently had an issue at Target with this very thing. I was trying to use some Head & Shoulders $1.00 off coupons to buy the sample sizes (to donate), and the cashier told me she could only use one coupon

. When I asked why, she said that the coupon said only one coupon per purchase. I said that I was only using one coupon per item, but it didn't matter. So I told her to take all of them off of the bill and just give me the one that I could use the coupon for. I then went over to customer service and they told me that when a coupon says one coupon per purchase, that I would just have to stand there and have the cashier do as many seperate transactions as I have coupons for. Good grief! And we all know that if I hadn't been buying the sample size with the coupon, they never would have even seen the very small print that says "one coupon per purchase", and even if they had, they wouldn't have paid any attention to it. She was looking that closely at my coupon to see if it excluded the trial size, which it didn't. Oh well, I'll just be doing a lot more transactions at Target from now on!
