Question How much do you pay for detergent?

I was just wondering how much do you pay for detergent? What's the cheapest you paid?

I am fairly new here and have been doing this for a month now. I can see the savings on my receipt but it seems that I am paying more by buying more of the products in order to stockpile. I know that I will see my savings in the long run. Any inputs? Thanks.

I usually buy ALL or Purex and pay about $1 to $2 a bottle for the 32 to 50 load bottles. I wait till there is a great deal and stock up as much as I can.

The thing to stockpiling so you are not spending so much is to just do a little at a time. I have been doing this since October and my stockpile is growing but i won't break the bank for it.

I wish i could get some great deals on laundry sopa but I have yet to get anything under $3.

Thumbs up Liquid Detergent gets as low as $1.99

That's $1.99 for 50 loads, or .04 per load. I go light on the sap, so I usually get 50 loads...and no I did not count the loads If I spend $10, I have enough for 250 loads. We have 4 adults in the house, DH, DD, DS and myself.
    Hope this helps!

WOW! That is great! Are you doubling qs to get that price, or is there a certain store? No doubling out here.. So the cheapest I have found is $3-$4, I am jsut wondering if there is something I am missing..

I make my own and that's really inexpensive. I spent $9 on the supplies about 2 months ago and have only replaced the bar soap needed and that cost $1. Each batch makes enough for about 64 loads. I've made 4 batches and have enough left to make about 3 more. HTH

wait til purex goes on sale for 1.99 a bottle and then use a50 cent coupon that is doubled. also never use as much as they tell you to. less works just as well. they want you to use more so you can buy more. if i have the coupons i buy as many as 10 at a time.

I don't use regular laundry detergent, any fabric softeners or dryer sheets. I use Charlie's Soap. 1 Tablespoon per extra large load (or approx. 0.10 per XL load). I tried their small packages first. I have since purchased their 1280 load, 5 gallon bucket for $127.99 (as long as you buy another product from them). Free shipping. No, I do not work for, and I am not affiliated with this company. I just happen to love their product.

My Mom and I were both Tide gals, you couldn't get us to switch until I started having 'sour' smelling towels, washcloths and dishcloths. I searched the web and found a laundry room forum. Voila! I am now a total freak over laundry! ...and I have a virtual chemistry lab in my laundry room with things like STPP, vinegar, soda ash and borax....

Hmmmm, I need to hunt for borax q's. That stuff is great for cleaning nearly anything.

    Smile thanks for the input

wow, thanks for all your input. reason i asked is i saw an ad in the rite aid flyer for the xtra detergent & nice and fluffy fabric softenr for $1.99/ea...cheap right? good deal? good product?

i will watch out for the ALL or Purex deals ...or maybe make my own ( ? )...

also i will start buying stuff little at a time...i tend to get excited and crazy ...but then again if the deal is too good, i need to buy as many as possible, right?
