A strange thing happened...they had a ton of stuff on clearance. I saw 2 things I wanted to get with coupons. Reynold's foil (see above) and Hormel Complete which was on clearance for $1.00. I had coupon for $1.00/2, so I thought I'd get 2 free with Super Doubles. However, that coupon wouldn't work. The cashier couldn't even force it through, so he called the manager. She said coupons don't work on clearance items. Strange because the foil coupon worked without even beeping. I figured it might be a problem since clearance items come up as grocery or grocery markdown. But I didn't know why the manager wouldn't let me have it. Any ideas? Or was she just wrong?

Tomorrow night I'm going to a different HT -- there a bunch very near me. I don't know if they'll have the same clearance items, but they may have a bigger selection on some other things I wanted tonight and didn't find.

PS Our prices are higher in Northern VA than down south...of course, we have different coupons too. So what's listed on CouponMom.com and another site don't quite match what I find/have. Good news is that I just did 3 potluck trades and happened to get a few surprises that helped in Super Doubles.

yeah! Another couponer from N.VA!! I have noticed the prices are VERY different as well here then what is usually listed. I did get the Ball Park Turkey Franks for 49c instead of 1.49 but usually EVERYTHING is more expensive. Having a hard time finding the Smart Balance Sour Cream, 2000 Flushes (1.99ea) Tooth paste, and a few of the items that do match my coupons but are out of stock! I am hitting a different HT tomorrow on my way down to visit my mom - We'll see. Great job though! Fun Fun ! Now all I need is meat and I won't have to shop for months I finally have a stock pile!

They have their Q policy posted by the customer service, I don't recall anything about clearance issue.

Having a hard time finding the Smart Balance Sour Cream

Don't know where you are in NVA, but they had quite a few in stock at the HT at Potomac Yard in Arlington. It's amazing how many brands of sour cream there are...I had to really look to find it.

The Wholly Guac up here is $2.99. I suppose still a deal at $0.99, but not good enough for me to try it.

I emailed the corporate office to ask about the clearance/coupon issue. Don't know if it will help for this situation, but I'm curious. Sometimes I will press the issue but didn't feel like it tonight.

not sure if this is the case here, but in some situations there are different sizes. my store has/had 2 different sizes of wholly guac, one at 3.99 and a smaller one at 1.99, unfortunately a few of my stores are no longer carrying the small sizes (in a few things not just guac)
