I haven't been to Aldi in a while. I always plan to go, but always too tired by the time I get done with Meijer and Kroger

Aldi is really my price points... I can usually get my real butter there for very cheap. It's $2.29# (or there abouts) so if I can get it cheaper elsewhere I do... this week it's at Duthler's (local store) for $1.69#, so DH and I will stock up. In the past it has been as low as $1.50# but that's 2X year and I don't know if it'll get that low again. Crescent rolls are $1.25 @ Meijer and 99˘ @ Aldi. Fruits and veggies are generally cheaper too... I'm buying canteloupe at Aldi this week too.

Wow your prices look so good! I don't know if it would be that cheap in Florida but I might drive to my Aldi and look around when I have time - it is about 20 miles from me so I couldn't go too often. Does anyone know if their meat is any good? I notice when I go online that they have some cheap prices but I don't want inferior quality meat. In other words - no pink slime.

I am really picky about my meat. Their prices were not too low on meat anyway. The only deal I noticed was that wild caught salmon was $3.99/lb (frozen).

I have yet to make it in to an Aldi but I did see on the news this morning that the company that makes "pink slime" is shutting down 3 of it's 4 processing facilities. They've been hit pretty hard by all the negative publicity. Many stores, restaurants, schools are not buying the product anymore but may be running through the inventory that they already have on hand and transitioning to a product without it. If you have a Walmart I was successful pricematching there. They did ask to see the ad which I had printed from their website. From work Aldi is the opposite way from home so it's not easy to get to. Not sure when I'll have the chance to stop in and check it out.

I usually don't buy too much meat at Aldi, but that's because I stock up at Meijer, Family Fare, Duthler's or Big Top for a cheaper price. I used to buy their bagged chicken breast all the time and loved it. It was flash frozen so I could take out what I needed and leave the rest, no extra packaging or anything. I think I may need to re-price the chicken breast. If I can get the flash frozen for $1.99#, I might just start doing that again. I also like to have the bag chicken tenders on hand, I can make a casserole real quick (don't even thaw then, just pick the fat off if any and cut frozen). Something else I do for a quick throw together meal, take the chicken tenders, cut them up into chunks, brown them up, and add to a Pasta Roni or Rice a Roni... dinner's done and it didn't take but a few minutes.

I do also like the sliced swiss cheese (Happy Farms), I just bought some and it was $1.79, butter is $1.99 this week (still cheaper at Duthler's $1.69), Banana's are usually 39˘ or 44˘ #, english muffins are 99˘ every day... WOW! putting all these prices down like this is making me re-think some things, LOL!

I buy almost all my produce at Aldi's but buy very little meat there. I feel their meat prices aren't that wonderful & they add color & solutions to them. No thanks! I also don't buy any of their packaged foods since they tend to have some extra fillers that help make them cheaper. I'll buy their cheese every now & then, but it does taste different than other stores--not as good as my Wegmans store brand. We like their flowers though--$3.99 for a bouquet--nice treat to myself!

Aldi's is our first grocery stop most weeks. They have excellent milk prices. I think that the special price this week is $1.69. Usually it's $2.39. I also really like their hamburger buns. They're every bit as good as the name brands. We buy lots of our staples there.
