Default Just had to complain a little...

So yesterday I bought my Band-Aids for the Princess & the Frog Rebate from Shop Rite. I used two .50/1 coupons. Anyhow, I stumbled upon Sorrento String Cheese packages that had peelies on them & you get $5 back for every two packages purchased (& in my house, we go thru string cheese like water). Anyow, I buy these too & then check out.

Come to find out later that night that BOTH rebates require original receipts, so I take the Band Aids back to Shop Rite today to return them & re-ring them. The cruddy part is, they would only give me cash back for what I paid (reasonable), but would not re-ring or price adjust them to give me the coupon value back. I could buy them again, but I would be charged $2 more than originally. I'm kicking myself b/c I do have extra Band-Aid coupons at home, just didn't bring them with me--hindsight is 20/20. I was VERY nice to the customer service rep & told her I knew it wasn't her policy, but it seems a little unfair that I have to go home & get two new coupons so I can buy the same boxes of Band-Aids, while Shop Rite gets reimbursed as if I bought 4 boxes.

I *know* this isn't a big deal, but it just really irked me this morning. Thanks for reading

That is very odd, I don't think I have ever seen a store that refused to refund the full value of the item, maybe don't show the receipt next time? Although I don't think I have ever seen a store that had the coupon next to the item, just a big pile of negatives at the bottom, so they would have no idea what goes with what... I don't know.

You should have gotten a full refund. They are techincally stealing from you as you used the coupon as tender...just like cash..the manafacturars cash.

ITA! I've always rcvd a full refund for the item value as the store is getting reimbursed from the M. They are totally double-dipping with this approach!
