Yesterday I went to the Giant at Van Ness in DC after work to get a rotisserie chicken -- Friday on sale for $5. I didn't see any in the heating display near the check out where I usually get it. So, I went to the deli. The guy there said they would be done in about an hour. I was disappointed.
However, I saw a sign on the heating display by the registers that said they guarantee they will have rotisserie chickens ready from 4 - 7 PM every day. It was 4:30. Otherwise, you get a coupon for a free chicken ("certain restrictions apply").
I figured they say with the extreme weather (snow) we've had that the guarantee didn't apply. However, I went to customer service to ask. She started to give me a rain check for $5, but I asked what the details were on the guarantee/free chicken. She said, oh that's right - and made the rain check for a free chicken.
I was disappointed because I wanted the chicken for the weekend. But with a change of menu plans...I'm happy to take the free chicken next week!
