Kroger Store Coupons that don't double

Have you ever watched as the clerk scanned your Kroger brand coupons (the ones mailed to your home for produce, meats, dairy, etc.) and saw that they don't double? I had a .45 off of Kroger mini peeled carrots, and the cash register knew not to double that one. Do you know how it knew?

Look at the barcode area, and notice at the bottom left corner there is a number all alone (usually a 1 or 5, but I have seen 9). Kroger brand coupons barcodes have a 1. The 5 codes will automatically double (unless the cashier hits the over-ride button before scanning it). The 1 codes will not double.

If I recall correctly, I don't have a Kroger to shop at any more, they don't double their own coupons that they mail to you only the manufacturer's ones up to a specific amount usually around $0.50.

Hi ... you are correct Kroger and Fry's do not double their own coupons any more - sad but true ...

I stack the Kroger coupon with a manufacturer coupon when it does not say "manufacturer coupon" on the top. If these are under 50 cents then they can be doubled unless otherwise noted.
