Default free halloween hamburger at Mc D's -NOT

hey i just thought that i would warn people about a 'freebie' that is not going on

at Qmom and other sites i have seen posts saying that on halloween if kids show up in costume that they get a free hamburger at Mc D's

i tried this earlier today and the manager did not know anything about it

i dont know weather it was at only a few select locations or not

but anyhow this is a false freebie

I bought 5 of the coupon books, for my kids. Went to McDs last night so they could get a treat, and the cashier said they didn't take them at that store, they weren't participating
So now I have to call around & see who takes these things before I drive everywhere just for the kids treats. lame

I saw that Halloween free burger thing... but the site I saw it on said "call first to be sure your McDs is participating."

My local McDs doesn't participate a lot!! The free coke glasses recently... once they did... another time they didn't.

A lot of the mcdonalds' are independantly owned, not part of the chain really. They dont' have to participate in the corporate events and they can and usually do charge more for food than the chain ones. They probably didn't participate because the q's for the burger didn't cover the menu price. Even though that hamburger only cost 25 cents, if that, to make including labor.
