Default When does your CVS or Walgreens stock up through the week?

Just curious if anyone knows when their drugstores restock through the week or if they even do. I know my CVS has a truck that comes in on Wednesday. Neither store really seems to restock on items. It's like if you aren't there when the store opens, you are out of luck for the deals that week..unless you want to mess with going back multiple times for the item to be in stock when you have a raincheck..Oftentimes my coupons are expired by the time the raincheck item is back on the shelves..

I spoke to the manager at my CVS a few days ago about this very topic. He told me that the STORES do not get to do the orders, corporate sends them out a specific amount. Sounded like a red herring ploy to me. Get us in the store offering one product then make sure that you don't have more than say.. 10-20 in stock so that when they run out people may be duped into buying a more expensive item instead. Not this girl!

The Wags closest to me restocks on Thursday. I have 4 CVS stores within a few miles of my house and I don't know when they restock because they never seem to be out of anything that I am looking for. LOL!

I spoke to one of the customer service reps at Walgreens and she told me that they restock on Wednesdays and Saturdays. But I haven't found that to be the case for the items that are on sale or have register rewards that week. If you aren't there Sunday morning when they open up at 8:00am, good luck getting the items that have rr's attached to them by 8:30am. You can get a raincheck for the sale items, but not if they have rr's attached to them. I went in this morning (I was there when they opened) and had 2 of the printable coupons for the Omega Smart Super Krill and they only had 3 bottles so I only took one to leave the other 2 for someone else. I asked the manager-on-duty if she expected to get anymore and she said that they were expecting a truck in on Wednesday but doubted there would be any on it so...not so great for all the other fellow couponers. They also only had 5 bottles on the Pert 2-in-1 in stock - I took 2 and another lady grabbed the remaining 3.

At my WAGS this morning I was happy to see well stocked shelves at 1130AM (thats when I finally got down there... long story about hubby... shelves... and nm its too painful to think about/ grins). ANYways... my store manager told me that they have been working hard to make sure they have sufficient stock for the RR items =D In case you didnt know it.. I LOVE MY WALGREENS!

CVS gets a truck on Wednesday, but say to check the shelves Thursday afternoon. I just get a rain check because I have never seen the shelves restocked.

I spoke to the manager at my CVS a few days ago about this very topic. He told me that the STORES do not get to do the orders, corporate sends them out a specific amount.
This is sort of true. The real answer just depends on the item. For example, Coke products come directly from Coke. Corporate has to let them know when our sales are out (or they let corporate know when they are running a specific promotion) but then we have to let them know if we are low or well stocked. Then, the actual person that delivers to our store sells to it, places the order, etc. Other items are shipped directly from the vendor, but we never see an actual person. As for the general stock truck-some items are just sent, with absolutely no consideration as to how many we already have, how much room we have etc. Other items ARE specifically ordered by the manager, but a few weeks in advance. Other items, we scan the shelf tags when we are low/out, then corporate decides how many to send us.

At my store, our stock truck arrives usually around 6pm on Monday. We happen to be a 24 hour store, so we are working to get stuff out all night. We are one of just two 24hr stores on our delivery truck's route, but the order the stores are delivered to is determined by fuel efficiency, rather than who closes when, plus we are the farthest out from the warehouse, so all the stores are delivered to in the evening. We usually have most of the truck out by mid morning the next day, but stores that close overnight only have 3 to 5 hours to get stuff out after the truck arrives, so most of it goes out the next day.

Aside from truck, we are ALWAYS moving stuff from overstock in the backroom to the shelves. Like, every day. But, unfortunately, if it's not in the backroom in overstock, we can't put it out on the shelf.

My particular store seems to be a big store for couponers. There's another store in the area that is smaller, but usually has more in stock, couponers just don't seem to hit them up as much (I have my own opinions as to why.) On Sundays and Mondays we are often out of the BIG items of the week-the stuff that runs free or nearly free. That's because we often don't have much to begin with, so as soon as the sale clicks over, it disappears. Then on Monday night we start filling up stuff, we usually have most of it Tuesday and Wednesday, but are usually out again by Thursday.

Another issue is what fits on the shelf. For example, razors on sale...often, it's only like 4 or 5 that fit on the shelf. So, that's all that can go out at a time. If I have 5 people buying those razors in a 5 hour shift (ie just one per hour) then I already have to restock from the back at the end of the shift. Say that 1 per hour average remains steady, that's like 4 to 5 times in one day (since we are a 24 hr store) that we would have to restock JUST the razors. With just 2 or 3 people in the store to run the whole thing at any one time, with stuff like that going on all over the whole store, plus ringing people up the INSTANT they show up at the counter, that's just too much to keep up with all the time.

The trucks come on Thursday at my Walgreens but it's best to wait until later on Thursday or early Friday to shop there because they are slow stocking. Or you could be like me and go sniffing in the crates that are sitting in the aisles..
    ISO list:
    Shedd's Spread Country Crock
    Folgers Coffee
    Mighty Dog food
    Loreal Excellence hair color
Nature Made vitamins codes (on the bottles). TY!
