Does anyone know how long liquid make-up is good for? Does it "go bad?". I never thought it did, but my mom claims it does. I have a bit of a stock-pile, so got to wondering.....

It usually has a shelf of 2 years. I was told years ago when I sold mary kay make-up.
Hope that is still the case???

Even if you have unopened liquid makeup ,2 years is pushing it . Sometimes the ingredients start to separate and then go on streaky. Especially those containing oil. Once you open your foundation and start using it your risk for bacteria and contanimation greatly increase , thus shortening the shelf life.
Store your open and unopened makeup in a cool dry area of your home and try to use opened foundation within 3-4 month's. If you smell anything unusual or notice an off color, throw it out.
Unopened makeup stored in cool dry area MIGHT last 1 1/2 years and still be good to use depending on the type of LF and the ingredients used to preserve it. IF IN DOUBT THROW IT OUT....Hope this helps![]()
I store all my cosmetics unopened, in a plastic storage container with a lid in a closet. Before I put it in the box, I write the date I purchased it on the back w/ a sharpie. that way when I need something, I pull out the oldest one first

great information volsfan. Thank you for sharing it!
I have a stockpile of makeup that I will never use so I decided to donate along with all other hygiene products to the local women's shelter. These women often come with only the clothes on their backs so I thought it would be a good place to donate. All the makeup was free with my coupons and I prefer a specific brand that I can't buy with a coupon (not yet anyways)so I love donating to people that can definitely use a hand up at the moment.

Thanks everyone! Very helpful. Now I will have to stop buying it, unless I can get in next to nothing/free to donate. I've got a year supply, I think.
