Default Nivea BW, Will this work?

I was trying to figure out a way (if it is even possible) to not lose the overage on the Nivea body washes, this is what I've come up with:
    3 mens bw 7.50
    1 women's bw 2.50, total 10.00

use (3) $3/1 mens and (1) $1/1 womens, total - 0.00. Will walgreens allow the overage if I have other Nivea items to absorb it or will it automatically be adjusted down?

YMMV at different wags but it should work out fine with that scenario. If they give you a hard time just add a small, cheap filler. I'm planning on doing the same transaction at Wags, if they have any BW left on the shelf.

I thought at Walgreen's, if an item is 2/$5.00, you have to buy two to get them at that price. I could be wrong though. I have two of the $3/1's though, so if I do buy 2, do I get the extra $1 off if I buy something else that's more than a $1? (Sorry, I'm new at this, and I was already frustrated over the weekend there with Coffeemate when they wouldn't let me use both my $1.50/1 coupons.)

I went to Walgreens yesterday and tried a scenario like this with success.

4 Active 3 Nivea for men body wash $10
    2 Nivea women’s body wash $5

I used four $3/1 MQ from yesterday’s Red Plum and one $3/2 MQ and the register didn’t beep at all! I was very surprised, as was the cashier. She even called to speak with the manager about what to do in regards to the $3 MQ with a $2.50 product. The manager told her to just scan the coupons to see if they would work. I was happy to get some women’s body wash for just the cost of tax, in addition to the men's body wash, which always seems to have good deals. I would imagine that your version would work just as well. Hope that helps!

I will add that ymmv depending on the cashier. I know of a few cashiers at my local Wags who would not be so accommodating, but I've found that checking out at the beauty counter can increase your chances of a positive experience there.

    question:
does wags require you buy both when it's 2/certain price? like at kroger, if it's 2/certain price, you only have to buy one, and get it for the price of one.
i'm asking because i only have one of the men nivea qs.

Baileysmom - I'm going after work and will update what happens.

sacoons - I also have learned to always check out at the beauty counter. The girl there gets more excited than I do about my OOP. It also sounds a little pyscho but I have somewhat learned the schedules of my fave cashiers. Two weeks ago they changed the schedule at one of my frequents and I haven't been back since.

blestwithboys - I'm pretty sure these are ringing up at $2.50, it always is different witht the 2fers. I will update after I go tonight with what they are ringing up at. Wouldn't it just be easy if wags would install self serve price checkers?

I wish all stores would do that.
I love CVS and my Ralphs (part of Kroger) as I can scan them to see what the price is (many times it is cheaper than the shelf price as the sales are not noted).
My Walmart used to have them and got rid of them about a year ago.
It would save so much time for everyone....shoppers and the cashiers.

I bought 2 mens, & 2 womens Nivea BW today: Used 2 $3/1 Nivea Mens; 1 $3/2 womens...all coupons worked. Didn't want to take a chance and try to use the $1/1 womens to cover all the cost. I didn't mind paying .25 bottle...it was worth every penny!
