Cool Wonderful Drugstore Week, eh? (June 27-July 3)

Has anyone else found this to be one of the best weeks @ drugstores? I don't even know what great deals Rite Aid had, but just at CVS and Walgreens alone, I RACKED UP. And that's even with forgetting a $1 coupon at home tonight, which frustrated me.

    This week @ CVS:
    Regular price: 252.96
    OOP: $7.35

Did almost as good at Walgreens:

    Regular price: $156.98
    OOP: $6.29

I still have $33.99 in EB and $47 in RR, plus I sent off for $15.99 in MIRs.

Total for the week: $13.64 oop / $409.94 shelf price / 97% saved

    haha... that's funny!

yes, this week has been excellent! But I have been loading my freezer up with cheese and beef and produce! The lil stores around here are running some great deals to price match with... love the food deals more (even if the saving % isn't as impressive....)

That's what I need to stock up on: meat & produce. During the next couple of slow weeks @ CVS, I can spend time researching what fruit can be frozen without losing its taste/texture. I read an idea to chop up unused partial veggies & keep them in a container in the freezer. Let me go do that with this 1/2 onion now...

Regarding meat, Kroger's everyday price on chicken leg quarters is 0.79/lb. That tends to be cheaper than sale prices. If I get a front-end mgr who is okay with using RRs, I'll stock up.

Other than meat & produce, we have enough other groceries to last a while.

Many vegetables freeze better after blanching. But you will find this in your research.

0.79/lb is stocakbale indeed! I went crazy though when I could get 0.39/lb! And Breasts for 1.79/lb...I'll get a couple of briskets at .99/lb.. And I am figuring out what cut of meat would be the best for Roast Beef sandwiches, as we eat those and pulled chicken specifically, and waiting for those sale prices to go down.

I've never shopped at Rite-Aid but maybe I should- I seem to have my hands full with CVS. I've also never really done walgreens.

But I'm not even done @ CVS because of all the deals I've still to do. YAY

I know-my house was the same way! I just went to Ralphs yesterday because they had a huge sale-got .88 strawberries, 2/$3 blueberries, raspberries , grapes and a bunch of other produce. I had a $4/20 for the produce plus a $1 Q for salad greens (a huge rarity!) so I got a bunch of stuff :-).

Strawberries! When they went to 88 cents, I loaded the freezer with them. Perfect for smoothies and strawberry lemonades and limeades. They freeze perfectly for those drinks My grocery bill will be produce for a while after my last meat run! I can't wait
