Default Stores are out of stock by Monday

I like to spend my Sundays at home catching up on housework and spending time with the family. I prefer to shop during my lunch hour or after work but it seems anytime I go, all of the free items and super deal items are out of stock. And I mean ALL! I know we all share the the same love for finding the best deals but I feel like I'm losing the battle when I carefully plan each shopping trip and time time out of my day to visit each store only to find that everything I went to get is already gone! Does anyone have the same problem I do when shopping at the drugstores like Walgreens, CVS & Rite Aid?
Is there any way around it other than going shopping first thing in the morning on Sunday? If I had to do that I would be resorting to getting the planning done as soon as I get the Sunday paper & visit Coupon Mom's site, which brings a rush to the project rather than giving me a sense of joy and lose time with my family & chores & such. Advice would be gladly appreciated!

Find out when their truck usually comes. For Walgreen's it's once and occasionally twice a week. During the year due to holidays it changes, but between the holidays it stays constant. Places like Walgreen's do not get trucks everyday like Walmart does. Usually there are up to 800+ pieces or totes meaning boxes plus totes full of random things. I would check late the day of the truck or first thing the next morning..... if 24 hour stores a lot gets put out at night. Another thing would be to call the manager of the store and let them know you want to buy such and such. That way they can try to get it for you with the next truck. Don't forget to get a rain-check if it will be after the sale date. I hope this helps.

The Walgreens I shop at gets their stock on Tuesday afternoons. The only place I really notice getting stock on weekends is Walmart.

    Yes there is...

    1. Ask the help if they have any in the back. They may not be aware that they are out. I have one Walgreen's that is notorious for not having sale items on the shelves.

    2. There is a <3 site that posts the adverts early for WG. Keep in mind that these are 3rd party sites that on occasion make errors and prices are subject to cost of living in your area.

    3. Begin planning on Friday, get organized on Saturday, get up and get shopping on Sunday. (delegate to family members the chores.)

    4. Always ask for rainchecks just in case you are unable to return before the end of the ad.
A penny saved was not a good sale....

I too have found I have missed out on the past 2 weeks of freebies since I don't get out to CVS or WGS until after noon on Sunday! I have determined I am going to have it together, get plenty of sleep the night before (I work 2nd shift so I tend to not be an early riser ) and get out there to get those deals! Being tired or behind in my housework would seem to be a better option for me than moaning all week long that I can't get those Bic Comfort 3 Razors for $1 profit!!! GRRRRRR! I do understand about the rainchecks, but I don't know if it is for all stores, but they usually only write "1" item on the rain check. Well, if I have 4 coupons I want to use all four, right? I don't know if it is just on the "freebies" that they do this or what. I will just have to see about having everything together to get those deals B4 noon this weekend! LOL
Yes, this clip-your-heart-out, sweatin'-out-the-deals stuff is my "me time"! Luv2Save

You must have missed my posts lamenting about my empty-handed wastes of time in trying to get in on the CVS deals on Sunday. Trust me, you're not the only one who's missed out.

I'm determined that I may try to go into my local 24-hour CVS at about 11:45pm on Saturday night to finally snag a good deal there. Anyone know if that will work, perhaps? Do ECB's start printing at the stroke of midnight? Oh well, I could always return the product if that doesn't work, maybe even re-buy the stuff to get the ECB's if I don't.

I'm definitely not an early-riser, and I would be livid to get up early on Sunday, only to strike-out. And rain-checks are useless if the item is being bought for the ECB's. CVS's sale price is probably equivalent to the everyday price of my local big-box retailer.

I am very thankful for my local stores here in S. Fla. as they always go out of their way and go in the back if out,and fill shelves so there is stuff for next person.
I used to work in stores and it was MY responsibility to make sure we HAD ENOUGH mdse. to cover sale mdse. If they run out, maybe you could ask mng. to see that enough gets ordered on for their sale.If this doesn't wk.cal the call main office and let them know you are having this prob. AND what store you are shopping-good idea to get mng. name too. Believe me it Will be fixed. They pay a lot to advertise these sales and WANT you to come.

    Default out of stock

Where I am in Calif., the Rite Aid ads actually begin on Friday, although the flyer does not show up in the newspaper until Sunday (same for Longs). So I can either look online on Friday at their ad or simply stop in the store and see what is on sale. I also peruse the rebate booklet to see what/when things will be "free after rebate" and am sure to go into the store on Friday to get those items before the ad hits the Sunday newspaper. Also, with rainchecks, if the item is not back in stock until after the rebate expires, the store should just give you the item for free if you bring in your raincheck, usually with no tax, so it is truly free.

I have the same problem. Due to work schedule and 3 of us sharing 1 car i dont get to have time to shop until tuesdays. Thats way after the sale begins on sundays. Im used to the items not being there even though i plan my shopping list very carefully and one missed item could mess the whole thing up. I will be starting to ask for rainchecks and asking them to look in the back for me from now on. Honestly i have been very intimidated when i go to the register to check out because im still "new" and not confident. With time i will get better. and learn to ask.

    Default same problem here

As others stated find out when your store's trucks come in.

I found that all my stores (CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens) get their trucks in on Wednesday morning. They've all told me they try to have all the totes and boxes up by 1 or 2 in the afternoon. That (for me) is the optimal time to go. That's what I'm going to do today for WAGS.
