    Default CVS v. WAGS

I'd really love some opinions here.....I still consider myself a newbie, but am starting to form some opinions. Until recently, I didn't do too much at my local drugstores, but that is because I really didn't understand the deals too well. Learning a bit more now, I am feeling that I like CVSs ECB program better that WAGS RRs. Please let me know if you agree or disagree:

    1) It seems like you have a longer period of time to use ECBs than RRs

    2) The ECBs are like cash you can use on almost anything in the store, whereas I have had trouble with RRs b/c they say on there they are MFQs and when I tried to use one from a previous purchase of the Fusion razor on a second Fusion razor (different day and time), they didn't let me use it. Language on back indicated the $4RR couldn't even be used on another P&G item.....
    3) Don't know if this is always the case, but since I've been watching 2-3 months, it seems like CVS deals are better.

    4) I don't think WAGS has the special CVS loyalty centers (don't know what these are called but you scan your card and you can get some additional savings on products, -- you just scan it when you walk in and see if something pops out! Like playing a game

Do you agree, disagree, am I missing something in general? Would love to hear your feedback.

I'd have to agree with you. I've been doing the couponing thing at CVS for over a year and we just had a Walgreens open up here in November. The cashiers at our CVS are friendlier and more helpful at pushing things through when the register beeps, the ECBs last longer than the RRs, you can roll the ECBs on the same item or for other items from the same company, and no filler items are needed to redeem the ECBs. I've not really noticed that one has better deals than the other, but I've only been doing Wags for about 3 months.

The big plus for me with WAGs is only being limited by the # of Qs I have. With CVS there are posted limits for each ECB deal.

Other then that definite advantages for shopping at CVS made more prominent when your local WAGs is difficult to deal with.

I agree CVS is much easier

I hit CVS 1x per week, and WAGS 2x (no limits) It takes me about 15 minutes to plan my CVS trip and about 45 for WAGSthe fillers get me every time!

I love my CVS. Walgreen's has too many rules and restrictions. I have a harder time finding things at WGs. And my prejudice: the WGs is old and run down. CVS is much cleaner, brighter, nicer to shop in. CVS staff is always helpful and friendly. Never had any problems with returns, multiple transactions, etc.

Last year I would have said CVS since I was getting $5/$25 every other week. Now I say Wags for me since I have the most awesome cashiers at my store, they are so friendly and almost always have all sale items in stock. My CVS has not had items in for sales at 7am on Sunday recently, esp not kids toothpaste or toothbrushes when they are on sale.

I prefer CVS over Wags, too. Both of my stores have friendly staff, but CVS is over-the-top helpful. I agree the ECBs are easy to use, too. I love the slot machine (scan your card and get a coupon box), too. For the last 3 weeks, every time I scan, I get a $5 off $25 coupon. When I am $2 short, the cashier tells me about a super deal I didn't notice (the Easter candy) or encourages me to fill in with more of the great deals I already have. Yesterday... I was $2.40 short to use my $5 off $25. The cashier said, "You can't beat the deal on the tuna ($.49) and you only have 4." The bonus - one of the cans I picked up as a result had a $1 off 5 cans Q in it. I'll go back later this week to get more and donate it to the food bank.

Default CVS is Best for Me!

Until recently at my Wags they would let me use 2 coupons for BOGO's but now they've decided to change the rules once again and will only let me use 1. Then if you have too many coupons, including RR's than you have items they won't allow that either. Too much to try and figure out. My CVS doesn't care and they are all so friendly and try and help you save money!
