    Default Where to donate?

I have a couple of coupons for the Breeze glucose things. Where do you all donate these? I'd love to help someone out but not sure where to send them.

    Thanks!

I am giving mine to Disabled American Veterans. They could really use them.

Perhaps if you look around your area to see what charities or organizations could use them. No matter who you give them to, they will come to good use I'm sure.

Try local schools. I know some school nurses around here like to have these on hand.

The local ministries in my area will not take them anymore. They said without the little slips that go with them, they are useless, and those have to be bought specifically for that model of machine. Needless to say, I've quit buying them - even to donate.

All the strips are machine specific and very expensive. Even the public aid programs vary from state to state so different machines are allowed. It is not access to the machines that is the problem, it is the cost of the strips.

If anyone has any more coupons for those I could use them I am sending mine to a third world country (Haiti/Dominican Republic) and since the strips are so expensive i decided to donate them to the diabetic hospitals, because the can use them. It is sad to say but even in certain clinics/hospitals they do not have the equipment to do these test for people.

Last night I saw the story of a woman that was going to lose her house and someone bought and gave it back for her to live in it. I started crying when I saw that. There is not enough charity in the world to think that our garbage can sometimes feed some people. it is very sad. I am not telling you to give the house away if you can't afford it ( there is saying : charity starts at home) However, If you can help someone by giving them something that you do not use go ahead and you will see how good you feel

Typically insurance and aid programs cover costs of these strips if there is medical need.

Many people I know who check their sugar levels have backup machines that will use different strips just in case the strips for the primary machine are out of stock.
