    Default Wags and CVS employees!!!!

Im so confused! Why are the emp at these drugstores so rude to couponers? Everytime I go to checkout at one of these stores the cashiers aways get so rude. I highly doubt most of these stores would be open without us couponers! Most of us spend only a few actual dollars but the rr, ecbs, and coupons we use there give each location credit for hundreds of dollars a week. Its not the end of the world but sometimes it can get frustrating shopping at these stores...wish the took customer service classes!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all you amazing moms!

I think that cashiers in general are becoming a little more "guarded" with coupons because they are being held more responsible for actions like pushing coupons through and over riding.

I was told by a Wal Mart employee that if they get three write ups regarding coupon mistakes, they are let go. I know before I got into coupons, I didn't really understand them to the level I do now and that can be intimidating when your job may be on the line for accepting a coupon when it beeps.

I am not making excuses, but trying to provide a little reasoning behind the attitude towards coupons. I honestly think that most stores could do a lot more training in the coupon acceptance department which would help with customer service in the long run.

I try my best not to get frustrated and take each "run in" as an opportunity to educate them on what is legit. Over time, I have found that cashiers that ring me up, seem to get a little nicer.

Hang in there and try not to take it too personal.

Wal Mart in general is really crappy to their employees. This has been posted before....the almighty bottom dollar has gone to the corporates heads!

After shopping Wags more consistently now for the past 3-4 months, I know which cashiers/BA's/AM's I prefer & which ones to avoid .

On Wed/Thursday, I witnessed some confusion with the Olay Quench coupon. I haven't bought any this week (going towards the 25/5 on Wed/Thur or on Fri with the 15% F&F) but my observations of another fellow couponer -

At the 1st location - the customer was able to purchase her bodywash (5.99) / Quench body lotion (10.49) - no problem. She also received her 5 Holiday Rewards. I saw that she had the Lotion rebate form in her hands. I think she'd purchased 2 bodywashes/2 lotions in the same transaction.

2nd location - problems (same lady - the locs are pretty close to each other). The register wouldn't allow the clerk to manually key in 10.49 for the lotion. The SM was called to the counter, and she attempted to key in 10.49 - the register wouldn't allow her; she could key in 5.99 no problem, but not 10.49. Was it because the register wouldn't allow her to key in an amt that was higher than the lower amt? Does this make sense?

And my thing with loc #1 & # 2 - they are soooo nice to couponers - hence why I shop there. And they'll bend over backwards to help me out, but at the same time, I know the beeping (& override) is not worth the price of their jobs. It's not always their faults. I was speaking with one of the AM's and he'd told me that he wouldn't allow a customer to do the buy (not a regular) but if I'd attempted to - he'd let me that felt like a reward when he told me that. I then posted this question to him - whose fault is it then? The customer or the manufacturers? Because the customer is doing exactly what the coupon says - buy a BW & get a free lotion. His response - in this case, it's the manufacturers!!!

But back to the making a big buy - I used one of the Olay q's a few weeks ago with a buy buy (6+ items in the transaction), & after the clerk keyed in 10.49, I was set. (yeah - I got a funny look back then when I was using the q - 1.99 for bodywash AND I get a free lotion that's valued @ 10.49) Was it because I was buying other things and not just the bodywash/body lotion? The register didn't know at this point?

Sorry for the long post & I hope this all makes sense.

The Olay FREE lotion wyb body wash beeps like crazy. I truly think it's Olay's fault because they should know that their Lotion is priced higher than body wash. The Assist. Manager told the cashier to key it in as a MFR Q. I might call the Olay company and ask them.

    Default Ex Wags Employee

I can't speak for all Walgreens b/c almost everyone I worked with that had worked at another Walgreens and said they didn't have the same poor experiences as their old stores.

I loved the customers that came into my Walgreens (I just had my last day on Sunday) and I had absolutely no problems with my coupon customers in fact they got ME into coupons and even referred me to the site.

However, my head of store and most of the managers HATE coupons and customers who use a lot of coupons. I was a BA and I used to bring in tons of coupons for the customers. I absolutely loved helping customers save money and get deals and I gained a lot of customer loyalty to our store in doing so.

Right before Christmas they started getting really strict with our coupons. The manager took our stash and threw them all away. (I was really upset at not getting them back even since I had brought them in.) Then they said if they found out we were helping customers with coupons it would be an LP issue.

I found the job really intolerable. I loved the customers and really enjoyed being in the beauty department, but my store was really strict and unpleasant. We weren't allowed to talk other employees or help each other with our work and everyone got written up for every little thing. I got written up twice for not being able to come in on days they scheduled me that weren't my availability. I finally had enough and gave my two weeks.

It's honestly the worst job I've ever had. The managers actually seemed resentful that the customers liked me so much and when they called in about me or raved to a manager I heard nothing about it even when I was standing there when they said it to them.

So I know some employees can be harsh, but they might just be having a hard time dealing with the new WAGS environment. I heard to coupon restriction in Cos is a new nationwide thing.

I will say that since I am no longer an employee I will be going to that Walgreens a lot to use plenty of coupons and RRs.
