I asked why and they said they didn't want someone coming in and wiping out the shelves.

I quit Wags a long time ago for CVS. I might be missing out on some great deals...but in the end, is it worth it?

I never have a problem at CVS.

Default The deal has to be really special for me to go to WAGS

Hi all,

I have a very sufficient stockpile so I can now choose to be picky.

Like others have mentioned, I too have WAGS employees following me around the store asking me questions all the time. Also, the desperate cosmetic counter lady is so annoying as she tries to get me to purchase things I don't want or need. This is a major turn-off to me and reminds me of those annoying people in the shopping malls who work at the kiosks trying to get me to buy their stuff by shouting at me from across the mall......

Second, WAGS does not apply its own policies in a consistent manner. My experience is that it is always a crap-shoot when trying to combine MF coupons, RR's and their own sales. I simply don't need this hassle and I simply don't have the time to pull together a deal and then have it fall apart because of their inaccurate interpretation of their own policies.

I shop CVS - I always get exactly what I expect to get.

But like I said, I have a huge stockpile and I am only cherry-picking at this point.

Default Awful time at Walgreens

I too normally don't shop at Walgreens BUT I thought I'd give it a try. So me and my mom go there to get a few Halloween items for my son's party. Had the flyer in my hand, good thing because alot of the items on sale did not have tags on the shelfs. The flyer says clip free coupons......but at the register all the sale items are ringing up wrong, then I mention that they are on sale. So the young gentleman (new I think) looked in the flyer to get prices. He was punching the keys to delete and ring again, numbers are flying everywhere.......he was trying to do these so quickly....THEN the mfg. coupons. One item on sale for .99, had a 1.00 coupon so he said I can't take this. I said then I don't want it. I know the manager heard this whole transaction and didn't step in at all. I said I was getting frustrated and was about to cancel the whole transaction. But we continued, paid, and left to read my receipt in the car. Of course, I was overcharged $1.03 which I didn't have time to go back in but I'm not going back. I experienced everything every already posted. Employees in the way, stocking, no tags on the shelfs, not taking coupons, and just plain stupidity........Thanks for letting me vent.

Fortunately I haven't had much trouble at my local Wag's. It's a newly built one that just opened a 3-4 months ago, but so far they have been good about everything. I have had a couple of hitches, one was my fault though, but yesterday the wife and I went in and did the buy 8 dove things get $10 RR back, along with a few other things. Once I got out to the car I realized it only printed the 6$ RR. I went back in, and politely showed the cashier the reciept, she called over the manager and he promptly and without hassle gave me a 4.00 gift card (actually 4.24 because the way he keyed it in included tax).

Default boycotting Walgreens

I'm so over walgreens. That's ridiculous. I still have to shell out cash to purchase these items, how can you not take MFG Q's?

Yet another reason I stay loyal to CVS. (Rite Aid's given me grief in the past about Q's, too, especially the IPs. but CVS never does!)

Just curious... Anyone else having these issues?
I am sad that you had these problems with the people there, what they told you about not being able to use coupons with RR's is a crock of ****, you can use coupons. the issue with using a Manufacturer's coupon that is more than what the price of the product is, is correct, the coupon can not exceed the price of the item. Corporate has made a ruling that the amount of coupons can not exceed the amount of products being purchased. IE: 5 products, 6 coupons won't work. Add a little something to your order, if you should run up against this problem, do the clerk a favor and purchase the monthly item, they get a bonus on their paychecks for every one they sell. Average wage for a cashier, 7.50. most items are only .05 per item that the clerk receives.

Not sure why the store was using computer generated signs, normally this doesn't happen, the clerks in the stores are pressured to give great customer service, that is why you will find yourself approached by just about every clerk in the store, they have to do it and can find themselves being written up or even fired for not doing it.

For the sales tags being taken down, WG has started a thing where their not putting up tags for the WG coupon sales, and has started putting up the next weeks sales paper tags on Saturday, and changing the prices in the computer after 4pm. Most of the time your able to use both papers at the same time.

Pacer, I don't know why your store would have told you that you could use only two RR's on each sale, that is bull. Be careful using RR's for the same products that are giving RR's back, some of the time, you will not be printed out the new RR.

As for calling corporate? you can use the survey number that is printed out on most receipts, that gets noted by corporate who will tell the regional about it, contacting the regional is the quickest way to get it across that you had a problem, the Store Manager can get you the number for them. If you have had a wonderful experience with a clerk, mention them by name on the survey, they stand a chance at winning a 25.00 WG gift card, helps them out.

I'll be happy to answer any questions about problems you have with WG, I am a former Cashier for them, and have learned most of the ins and outs about couponing there.

Wags in my least favorite, but I have to admit the last time I was there I had a problem, come to find out it was my error and so I had to return some items and I ended up having to deal with 3 different employees and they were all so nice and helpful and they all tried to get my deal to work, but it wasn't correct, so that's life, but they treated me great. That being said, the store sucks (well it does!) and they are almost always out of 1/2 of what I am looking for so unless I have to go into the bank next door, which I only need to do every few months or so, I avoid it too.

Went with list in hand this week, it has been a while since I have been there....did my CVS run and it was successful....had all items, all Qs were accepted (even with some beeping), treated well, came out with more ECBs than I paid ....then on to Walgreens....had 2 items on my list, and then OUT of the rest. Can't get rainchecks b/c the items have RRs, so they said they don't know how to 'do' that. So they told me what day the truck comes, but believe me, I hate lining up all my coupons, making my list and feeling ready and then NOTHING at Wags. Disappointing. And with the RRs you have to line up your transactions so you are paying with an RR from same co that you are receiving RRs from....keeping it straight in and of itself can be a nightmare. I agree....go back to the rebates! The RRs are tough! I LOVE wags when they have the sale stuff in stock, but so often they are empty shelves that I just don't even bother going. They are losing business!
