Question Wags vs. RiteAid - which would you choose?

I am a confirmed CVS shopper and have been running the ECB deals there for about a year now. I love my CVS, but now I am really working on trying to maximize every penny and wonder if I should expand my store base. I live in a very populated area with many of all three stores close by. I have done a little bit of the Wags RR and one month even did the mail in rebate thing. I just don't have very good luck using the RRs (seems like no matter how careful I am, something goes wrong and they have to scan it all twice or some other kind of "it won't work" foolishness) and one of the rebate items I had clearly marked on the receipt just like I did all the others was not credited. I sort of just dropped Wags unless they had something irresistable. I haven't tried any deals at RiteAid or their SCR program.

Any advice for me about which to try? I think I would rather choose one than adding both at once. Now that I am good at CVS, expanding my focus by one store should be enough.

Welcome to the Forum and good post. I do not like the hassle of Wags RR but I may give it another try since the EasySaver Rebate has come to an end.

I havent had many problems with walgreens. I actually love it there! except i too am not such a big fan of the RR's... As for rite aid, I dont shop there because every time I went in there (before I started using coupons) there was always something wrong... but thats the rite-aid in my area... you should try it with a simple transaction and see how that goes.

Default Rite-Aid!

I started with Rite-Aid so maybe that's why I am particularly fond of it. Maybe it was past bad experiences with grouchy, unhelpful cashiers and managers at Walgreens. Oh, and the fact that my Register Rewards NEVER seem to print out...

But I say Rite-Aid. It's simple: Shop with your coupons, save your receipts, enter them online, they mail you a check! No fuss.

I have given up on Walgreen's 100% - I refuse to go in there, no matter what deals they have. It's not worth the headache.

I am with Ventura on this....I would try out Rite aid.....I am just so fed up with Walgreens on so many levels, they couldn't give me stuff for free to entice me back in that store.

Default If you can deal with some hassles...

I too have all 3 in close proximity- I go to all 3 but find that there are better deals usually at Walgreens- HOWEVER, you do have to be careful due to all the restrictions on RR/ # of items. If I have the choice I'll choose Rite Aid or CVS hands down, but Wags does have good freebies on occasion and I need to save all I can- this month the toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair bands and chapstick are all items I use frequently and would rather get for free if I can. Also, their diaper deal last month was great(like the one they had at CVS earlier this month)- the one thing that's really nice about Wags is that there is no restriction on the # of times you can do a deal- I did the diaper deal 3 or 4 times (2 kids in diapers) which you can't do at CVS or Rite Aid.

I LOVE Rite Aid. Its so easy, and every month you get a nice check depending on what you buy and you use that as your 'ECB', and you use the money from that check for the month and then you get another check...get what I mean?

I love it!!

Hate WAGS. Cant figure it out.

Rite-Aid!

WAGS is a pain. The RR rarely print out and there are too many loopholes that make it a big hassle.

I have always been a huge fan of CVS. If I had to choose between Rite Aid or WAGS I would say, Rite Aid (I have the cashier wrapped around my finger, I give her my extra Q's, she is always amazed at the deals I find) BUT just found out today they are building a WAGS right down the street from me, the one I go to is about 30 minutes away. I can't wait, should be open by September !!!! Should be interesting how things will work out there...lol
