Default Questions about taking stickers of items in store !

    Hello

I have a questions - when the itmes in the stores has the little stickers on them - MQ - and you take them off and use them on a cheaper product - is that ok ?

Is it ok if you happen to take a couple extra for next time or is that stealing ?

I see the little stickers on the stuff all the time in different stores - and they are coupons for the buying of the stuff - yes they are .

But I am stealing from the store if I take some for next visit ?

    Thanks

    Tennie

    oh boy..........

IMHO, personally I get peevedif an item I'm purchasing is supposed to have a sticker and someone removed it for any reason. I see it as if you purchase the item you own the sticker. If you take the sticker but you don't purchase the item you have technically removed something which belongs to somebody else...........but that's my take on it.

I personally wouldn't. Like Vagabond said, it belongs to someone else until you purchase that item.

It's not fair to other couponers out there. You never know, there may be someone who comes along to buy that same product who, needs to save that $1. even more. I know I'd feel guilty over it....that guilt isn't worth the savings to me. JMO.

I won't pull the peelie off until I purchase it, because I wouldn't want somebody doing that to me. The "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" applies in my book............

hmmm I guess I'm odd man out here. I don't see anything wrong with taking one or two to use another time. The manufacturer pays for these and get charged the same no matter where you use it. I would take an excessive amount, but I think taking one or two is fine.

    Default A Cautionary Tale....

I have heard stories in the past where (depending upon the store and the management) that yes they DO consider this stealing....

Perhaps, Stephanie or the moderators wouldn't mind posting a link to this, but Stephanie once wrote about how a woman was in the habit of using a specific coupon/specific size for the smaller/less expensive size, and mangaement was already on to her, and she came in to do it again, and was PROMPTLY arrested and her kids were with her.

For those of you who would like to see Stephanie's articles, go to the savings articles link on the CouponMom homepage.

As far as pulling the coupons to use on cheaper/smaller sizes than intended. Here's the link to the incident CherryPicker referred to.

I think the peelies should be used on the product its on. Picture this: you are reaching for an item on the shelf, last one and it has a .75 peelie on it and you are gonna buy it and save .75. BUT then someone sweeps in and grabs the peelie and tosses the item back. Are you happy? It's not the end of the world but it's irritating.

    Just my opinion.

The other day I bought 2 Excedrins. I deliberately chose the 2 packages that had $1 peelies on them. However, I had 2 $2 Qs in my purse. I used my own $2 Qs, but since I was purchasing the Excedrin anyway, I kept the 2 $1 peelies to use at a later date. I believe the manufacturer has put the Q on that product to be used for that size - not a smaller size. On the other hand, when I was buying Altoids a month or so ago when they were BOGO and had $1 peelies on them, I wanted a different flavor, so I did remove the peelies off one flavor and use it on another that I bought that same day - same size.

THIS IS A NO NO!!!! We do not approve of this behavior on this site and we do not want to encourage anyone to do this practice. If I buy and item with a peelie on it, then it is my decision when to use that peelie. If it is not attached to the specific product you are buying then, you are not entitled to it.

Thank you so much Churn111 for posting this!! I would encourage all newcomers to read this article. I have followed the guidelines in this article since my first day ever on CouponMom, and I have never had a problem with a store accepting my coupons as a result either. Enjoy!!
