One great deal for charity can be found at Targets. ALL seasonal school supplies are 75% off. One can get pens, 150 ct filler notebook paper, 5 pk-notebooks, crayons for less than $ .50/ea

ALL such supplies would be gladly accepted by your local banks, but esp shelters. Check out your local Target/SuperTargets (seasonal areas & endcaps) to see what is left.

Good luck!

Wink Speaking of school supplies for Charity....

I had also combined in-store coupons with sales at Rite Aid, to get various school supplies for charity for free. (This included paper, notebooks, crayons, and pens).

I'm new to couponmom and love reading everyone's stories of savings and charity. I've only been clipping for a few weeks and have found a lot of cheap/free items to donate. My daughter and I have decided since I won't allow her to have a dog or cat right now that we would collect animal care products and food for our local animal shelter and visit them monthly (this will allow her to interact and learn about the animals).

Default breakfast for food pantry from Giant Eagle

Yesterday I bought Quaker Oatmeal priced at 4 for $4 minus 2 50c q doubled so only 50c each.

Today they have Quaker products incl Aunt Jemima Pancake mix and syrup in a special buy 5 products save $3 on your next purchase. The promo also includes Q chewy granola bars and Q breakfast squares. I only have 2 sets of qs so I plan to purchase 3 pancake mixes and 2 syrups for $10 - $3 on next purchase - 2 ($1 on 2 q) = $5

That $5 will provide a lot of breakfasts! Add to that the Skippy pb from CVS last week and my car trunk looks like a mobile grocery store.

I did this with the Sare Lee coupons, for the free bread.I had so many that my family my family couldn't possibly eat it all. So I stood on the bread aisle and handed people the bread with the coupon. Many looked at me like I had horns and other were just grateful.

Default fire stations

another idea is to take your surplus to fire stations. I periodically take a bag or 2 of groceries to my local station, within walking distance so me and the pooch take a walk over and they are very grateful and love us!

I love this idea as firefighters and EMT's must pay for their own food they eat while they are on duty
