Hi everyone!
As a military veteran, I have finally found something I can do personally which can really make a difference in other military families' lives. Everyone has been sending out the care packages to the men and women who are away at war in a desert or on a mountain somewhere, but what about their families who are stuck in another country alone? This year I have started a new hobby, sort of. I realized that I had a ton of expired coupons or extra coupons of items I wasn't really going to buy. Then I thought about all the coupons I don't clip out of my Sunday paper. So now I am collecting expired and extra coupons to send to military families stationed overseas. These families can use your manufacturer's coupons up to 6 months past the expiration date. At first I did this on my own, but now I have included it as sort of a "charity" run by my business, Little Snuggle Buggles. We call the program the Stars and Stripes Coupon Project. Along with the coupons we try to donate as many coupon "billfolds" as we can, and we try to disseminate all the coupons evenly through all the overseas bases. So anyhow, I would love if you moms could go through your coupons and send me any that you will not be using. Also, if you get a Sunday paper and donąt even take a look at the coupon section, please send them my way! Together, we can really help these families. I know times are hard for us here in the U.S., but they are even harder for military families overseas. Most of these families live below the poverty level and really have no choice of where to shop to get the best deals like we can here. I know how tough it is since I was stationed in Italy for 2 years. Groceries are expensive everywhere! Please send them to: Mistie Ferguson Little Snuggle Buggles 977 Seneca Trail St. Cloud, FL 34772 Thanks everyone! Mistie Ferguson Last edited by LITSA; 12-07-2008 at 02:11 PM. |

I have been doing this since I first saw it on CouponMom. I'm sure they make good use of it as we do our coupons here. Military personnel and their families learn to stretch their dollars and this is one of the many useful tools out there to help them achieve that and keep more money in their pockets.

I do this as well to a family in Japan. I try to send coupons and have even sent items to help them out. Like stuff we have been getting deals on that they are not able too.
I love it and besides I have been able to make a new friend in the process It is a great way to contribute and hopefully more people will do it to. Such a simple, random act of kindness to show our gratitude

I'm sooo happy to see that others are doing this as much as possible. It is easy and goes to help out some great people.
I've been doing this too. I send mine to a family in japan. I posted this yesterday on another post but here is the link again. The newspaper did a story on me in yesterday's paper about this very same thing. Here is the link just in case you want to read the article, oh and see my mug on the front page ![]() q's on front page Thanks, |

I am so excited that this program is really getting more news media attention. I was also in my local paper and interviewed by the local station. I received a note from a mom here in the Atlanta area that said her seven year old daughter saw the story. Immediately went to the Sunday paper, cut and sorted the coupons and sent them to our organization. Wow!!! If a seven year old can do it any one can.
