Default ANY SOLDIER....need help, getting ready to send a package don't know what to do!

So, I'm ready to send of two packages thru Any Soldier. I have my address and I've been to the post office with one of the boxes. They gave me a customs form and told me I had to fill out several since I had 15 different items and the form only has room for 4 items. Anyway, I had my toddler with me and decided against filling them out there. I did ask if I could just do it online, they said no problem.

Well, tonight I started filling out the online form, but it doesn't have anywhere to fill out the contents of the package. Is this even necessary? I don't want to print the postage and go to the post office only to find out I still have to fill out 4 forms in order to send the item.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...this is kind of discouraging me from sending packages, but I know once I get past this and get it mailed I'll feel more at ease next time. I'm just really frustrated because I don't know what to do!!!!

I had a soldier help me fill out the form and he said just to list for ex: 12 shampoos and 12 toothpaste, etc. He said I did not have to list each individual item.

I have 12 different items with different quantities, thus multiple forms, or that's what they told me at the post office. But with this online form it doesn't look like it's going to make me fill out a customs form...

You don't have to be too specific when filling out those forms. My husband has been to Iraq 3 times and I sent tons of packages and I would just put things like "food items" and "toiletries"

Have you ever paid for postage online? I'm sending a flat rate box and from what I can tell it's not going to make me fill out the customs form....I don't want to get stuck having to fill one out at the Post Office with my little one running all over the place.

No, I actually have never paid for postage online. I used to send flat rate boxes too, but I would just keep a stack of customs forms at home so I wouldn't have to do it there. Good luck! It's really great what you are doing...it will be very appreciated!

I was told at our post office you didn't have to put all of the stuff down specifically. So you could put candy, cookies, health and beauty, etc.

My husband recently returned from Afghanistan, but much of his unit is still out there. If you would like an address, I'd be happy to send it to you.

Also, I never itemized my shipments In fact one time (I guess the stress of my deployment) I actually wrote "random junk" That isn't what I recommend, haha , but it worked. Just put "snack food" or "sundries" They get the idea!

There are 2 different forms. A green one and a white one. The white one you can write more than 3 items. Some post offices say it depends on how many items are in the box and others say it depends on weight as to which form you use. If you don't list everything it will still get there. HTH
