Default Women's Shelter needs

I just received a list of needed items from our local Women's Shelter.
The mom of one of DS's friends is a counselor there and I spoke with her lastnight. She gave me some other ideas that some may not ever have thought of.
Upon entering the shelter each woman is provided a gift basket filled with H&B items then for Christmas and her Birthday she is given bags filled with gift type items.
LONG DISTANCE CALLING CARDS
GIFT CARDS TO LOCAL GROCERY STORES
GIFT CARDS TO DEPARTMENT STORES
GIFT CARDS TO TOYS R US (There are several young children at the shelter
with thier mom's and these could really come on handy around Birthdays
and Holidays)
SLIPPERS, SOCKS, PJ'S, FLIP-FLOPS, GIRLS CLOTHING, INFANT CLOTHING (BOYS AND GIRLS), BATH TOWELS, HAND TOWELS, NEW UNDERWEAR AND BRAS, MISC. GIFTS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS UP TO AGE 12.
MISC. GIFT ITEMS AND BATH SETS FOR GIFTS (She specifically mentioned
handbags as a very nice item)
ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOLLOWING ITEMS:
coffee pots, blender, dvd player, vaccuum cleaners, lamps, winter coats for adults and children, diapers, wipes, bottles/nipples, pull-ups, new infant toys, Twin sheet sets and mattress pads, shower curtains and liners, plastic tablecloths, cookie sheets, step stool (for kids), hand towels, manual can openers, laundry soap, dryer sheets, paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex, paper plates, napkins, over the counter meds and painkillers, nail polish remover, hairbrushes, liquid makeup, powder, bodywash, ladies shaving cream, hand lotion, deodorants, hairspray, mousse/gel, hair color, shampoo/conditioner, Ethnic hair products, soap holders w/lids, umbrellas, plastic toothbrush holders, coffee, creamer, sugar, Batteries (AA & AAA esp)
FOR THEIR FRESH START PROGRAM:
This is a transitional housing program for Domestic Violence victims.
Toasters, coffee pots, mixers, irons, snall microwaves, dishes, silverware, glasses, baking dishs, pictures, cookie sheets, pots and pans, curtains, tea towels, hand towels, wash cloths, bath towels, All personal care items, all paper products, all over the counter meds, all bras and underwear, fresh meats, mom-parishable food, cd players, relaxation cd's, luggage.

Hope this list helps anyone who may want to donate to their local Women's Shelter.
