    Lightbulb Samitarian's Purse

For those of you who have extra products, please don't forget to pack a shoebox for a child through Samitarian's Purse. It will help children in other countries who, would otherwise, have nothing for Christmas. Those trial sizes would be great for this. Can't be liquid, but toothpaste can go. Check out their site for a list of acceptable products. This the one big charity that I donate to because they do what they say. It's through Billy Graham.

    Thanks for this post.

That's the best part, IMO, of getting stuff for free. The abundance of what can be shared.

    Default Great Ministry!!

I've filled boxes & loved it. Don't just use your freebies. If you've got kids, use their unused/just like new kids meal toys. Pencils, pens, & even plain old paper is always needed. One year I cleaned my girls rooms & cleared out my shelves. We filled 12 boxes!!! Don't have a shoebox, go to the Dollar Tree & get those clear ones there.

It's a fantastic way to clear out perfectly good, unused stuff that you'd otherwise throw away. Some local churches even ship the boxes for you!!

Oh, the #1 request, small flashlights with extra batteries. Many of the poor dears don't have electricity.

McDonalds toys are great to add to these boxes since they are so small. I really love this charity and my 4 year old daughter loves to give her Happy Meal toys to "kids that don't have toys". Grandparents are forever taking her to MCeeD's so she get's duplicate toys now and then too.
We've done this ever since she was 18 months and I can tell it's made a difference in her being more giving. She realizes that she has so much and to think that there are kid's that don't have toys really motivates her. Now I've gotta get my son who just turned a year trained

    Default lights

I usually put tap lights in the boxes, too. You can get multipacks of those and split them up. Got a great deal on the Rayovac batteries this week, so extras will go in that shoe box.
Another great item is tote bags/book bags... how many of those totes do you have lying around that you do not use? I used to get two or three a year from attending different conferences. After working at SP one year, I heard how much the kids LOVE those bags, so now I put those aside all year for my shoeboxes. As a matter of fact, I'm hosting a TNT Leverage House party Friday, just got the party box, and one of the freebies is a shoulder sling-type bookbag. Mine is going in the shoe box!
    Isn't this fun?

    Default Bigger boxes, please!

I jammed 2 boxes so far. My problem is, I wish you could use boxes bigger than shoe boxes! It's been fun sifting through my stockpile to see what I can use.
