Kids say the darndest things.
My daughter asks me today why I didn’t make my Christmas list to Santa. I told her all I wanted was to keep all I had in my life. My family, our health and happiness and our home. She said Mommy you should get stuff for Christmas. I knew this was good teachable moment so pack up some bags and boxes of my recent freebies and we headed to the homeless shelter. We took the things in and talk with a few of the members staying there. When we left she said “Mom they look so normal.” I said Honey they are normal, they just need a little caring and understanding to get them thru. My daughter said I will put care and understanding on my list to Santa. Now that is a teachable moment there. |

Good for you! I have done the same with my kids when they were little.Seeing makes more of an impact than just talking about it!!Helps them to understand what you are saying.Sounds like she is a remarkable girl!!
