Hey All,

I just wanted to let you all know that I received an email from my husband saying that he has received several wonderful packages from "my couponmom peeps" (his words) and I just wanted to sincerely thank you. He is doing his best to get thank you letters back to everyone that has sent.

He has compiled a list of frequently requested items from his Marines, so I'll pass it on incase anyone is interested.

Thank you once again, you guys are the best!

2. Gold Bond Medicated powder
3. Pringles
4. Toothpaste

11. AA Batteries
12. AAA Batteries

So glad your husband got the care packages other sent. After reading the posts I am going to see if our local recruiting office would like to take a collection and send over. My son has been in the DEP (delayed entry program) since December and will leave in August.

I also got some useful info this morning regarding the mailing. The flat rate for a box up to 70 lbs is $11.95 if it's going to a military address.

Keep in mind that the flat rate, is only if you use the FLAT RATE BOXES, I've actually found it cheaper just to send a regular box. It seems to be roughly $1 per pound, just an estimate, but I sent a huge box that weighed 15 pounds and it cost about $12 to send, same as the flat rate boxes, but I could fit a lot more. You can send anyway, I've certainly done both I just don't want anyone to feel ripped off! Thank you again for all your support!

Good info, except the size of the box works against there. I have gotten about 30lbs. of stuff in it though.

JamieLynn - I had just been wondering if you had heard from your husband re' the boxes. I'm so glad he's been getting them! How are conditions at his base now? It sounded pretty basic.

Just wanted to thank everyone that has sent something, please know that they are so appreciative and will do everything they can to get thank you notes back to you. If you sent me a PM for the address and I haven't replied, please send me another PM. I had a a few labor scares (I'm only 6 months pregnant) so I've been away from the forum a bit.

The troops are working very very hard over there, you'd see more media coverage if the common population didn't see Michael Jackson's death as more important.

Thanks again to you all, you're wonderful people and a great circle of friends
