    Default autism

I am not sure if i can post about this on here but it is worth a try! We all talk about what we are buying for free and donating to charities, which is a wonderful thing. But how about taking some of the money we save from using our coupons and donate. Talking more specifically about donating to Autism speaks Walk now for Autism 2009. My cousins three year old little boy Noah was diagnosed with autism last year, and now, in may she is walking for autism. Through there website she has a personal page about her little boy where you can sponser her, with a minium donation of $20. of coarse you can donate more than that, but a $20 minium. The donations go directly to the charity not to her herself, but she gets credited for it. She is trying to raise $1360 i believe and the last i checked she was at $651. She is walking to help find a cure, and treatments for autism. https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg...upId=251961537

You can go there to check out her site and to donate, and there is a scrolling thing to show all who have donated... i have donated my $20. Also if any one is in the anderson area in ohio... in may they will be doing a bake sale and all monies raised will be going to autism speaks as well. I know it will be held at a kroger's but i am not sure which one at this time... i will post again when i get more info on this..... Thanks in advance for all who help... If you do donate... maybe put coupon mom next to your name so maybe we get some reconginition for all coming together and giving to a wonderful cause... i didn't next to my name but i just thought of posting about it on here. Thanks for reading

Having a child with Autism myself, I cannot thank people enough who give to any Autism related cause. The needs are emsence and the funds are no where near what they should be. Autism Speaks is an organization that really has in my opinion done a great job getting out the information about Autism.

If anyone would like to get a brief glimpse of what life is like for many of us who have an autistic child please check out thier film "Autism Every Day "on youtube or google it.

Since my son was diagnoised in 2003 , I have seen the numbers of children diagnoised with this condition change from 1 in 170 children to 1 in 150 in 2008, and they are now saying - for boys - it's 1 out of 70.

I have been to our Autism Walk here in the Atlanta area for 3 years now and each year the number of families there with newly diagnoised children grows . It is unbelievable to see and it breaks my heart.

I agree with gofalcons. My 4 year old daughter is not autistic, but has significant developmental delays, she did not walk until she was 2 1/2, now we are working on getting her speaking. As part of her therapy she attends a special services preschool and also a gym/swim program sponsored by our local university on night a week, at no cost to us. Many parents struggle with child care and services for their children, every cent can help. We are lucky our daughter is only delayed, most people would not imagine the stress of not being able to understand how to help your child.

Not to be negative about donating to charities. but A minimum donation for a charity. Seriously. Last time i checked most charities didnt have a minimum donation.
And if i am donating my own HARD EARNED money, i am going to donate what i can.. not some stupid minimum.
People should just take what they can get, weather it be 1.00 or 200.00. They should just be greatful for the donation itself.

And just so you dont think i am some flake. I donate my time, money and gas, to March of Dime and Junior Achievment.
That is more than enough for me at this point.

well that is really great for you.... the minium donation is 20 dollars to donate through the website, if you went to the site, right underneath the donation place it reads
The minimum on-line donation is $20. This minimum is set to maximize the use of your generous donation. If you would like to make a donation less than $20, please use the donation form link on the bottom left of the page.

you simply print out a donation form and send it in. maybe i should have specified a little better
