Default Made my first donation today! :)

I hadn't been sure about *where* to donate all this extra stuff I've been accumulating, so I finally did a google search for "(city name) where to donate." It turns out my city had published a flyer with information on where to donate things, and there is a food bank in my city!

I dropped off my first two bags of food and toiletries today. It felt so good! I said a little prayer asking the items to be a blessing to the recipients and also explained to my toddler daughter what I (we) were doing. I can't wait to do this more with her as she grows!

Thank you so much, Stephanie! I never would have given back in this way without you!

My greatest reward is being able to get so much free stuff (food and otherwise) and then see how much I can give away to strangers I'll never meet (or will I?). :-)

One time I was coming out of a WAGS and a bum asked me for money. I prefer to give the homeless items rather than money. All I had on me was candy for the XMAS clearance sale so I gave him a bag of Hersheys kisses and he was thrilled!

I recently made my first trip to the women's shelter last week. I took about 30 packs of Kotex and about 40 bottles of sham/cond/product. They were so happy to receive the donations. Its fun to be able to give away to those in need.

Good for you. It's always nice to be able to give back.

I contacted our church's social ministry board yesterday to see if they knew of families in our church before I go to the food bank. They definitely do and have received requests from those who have lost their job and aren't receiving unemployment yet. I like the idea of giving it to fellow members I see at church every week and the social ministry board also helps the shelter and food bank throughout the year.

that's what I've been doing........our Bible Study runs the food pantry at church so I drop things off at the leaders house and he funnels it out. He has 3 teen boys who eat anything as well and I always seem to have leftovers so I drop those off as well......its a win win situation!!
