Good question. Military families can use expired coupons, up to 6 months have their expiration at the Commissary. This helps offset the cost of living for these families that are away from their loved ones and who are faced with a substantial higher cost of living.

I have two articles about this program and would love to get more people involved. The American Legion Auxiliary group, I'm a part of will send these for anyone who lives in our community. We send in bulk, straight to the commissary. Please pm if you need additional information.

Can we send IP's too or just manufacturer coupons? I'm assuming we shouldn't send anything for fresh express salads or that nature.

You can send Printed coupons, Expired coupons- But they can not be for a specific store. Like if it says CVS or Target we can not use them.

how could i go about starting a program like this in our community? or getting the word out in our community. My BF is a Marine, well he is no longer enlisted but as he says "once a marine , always a marine".

I have already converted my mom AND my neighbor to coupon clippers.

go to the church in your community, VFW, schools, post fliers, put an add in your local paper- saying tha tyou are collecting curretn coupons and expired ones fo rmilitary overseas and if any on eis interested have them call you. YOu will get amajor respponse that way. I would also put flyers up at the library!! My sisiter is a sen leader for cub scouts- the yhave to do volunteer work- she has them collect coupons form neighbors and friends and they click coupons once a month and mail to me. i hope this helps.
