calling cards???

Are there still groups in the states donating calling cards to service members who are in Iraq???

I'm pretty sure certain groups are requesting them as a part of general drives. My sons school just did a drive for the military requesting a variety of items and one of the highlighted items was calling cards with a note that explains that the military does not get to call home for free. I believe Adopt a Platoon is also requesting them (my former workplace has adopted a platoon and sends various items and I'm pretty sure calling cards were on their list as well)

Due to Qing I was able to send 23 boxes of Altoids (another highlighted item ), several disposable razor packages, toothbrushes and toothpaste, other mints, gum, canned air (for cleaning electronics), batteries, some chocolate candies, pens/pencils, hot chocolate packs, and a few other things.

I'm apart of a Marine family myself, DH, BIL, and Brother. DH and BIL have since been honorably discharged, but Brother is career, a CWO2. He has been in Iraq 3 times already. I always hated thinking what he didn't have while overseas...
Oh and he had been in Japan for the past three or so years, just got stationed in the states again. Need to save up to visit him as he is on the other coast!!

I was just wondering- My husband is over there and can't call home because there are no calling cards available. Last time he was there he was handed a new card every week that someone had donated. My sister is a Cib Scout Den Leader in Indiana and she is asking her scouts to put together boxes for our 6 guys that just left- including calling cards, shampoo, razors , etc.... -- I just feel so sorry for all the other guys there who can't call home. Maybe some people could send cards over seas- or find org. who are sending them and donate to them.

Hey my husband is a ex gulf war Vet. And i will also look down here. Would you mind sending by email posting back to me, the addresses they are at with the list here, of things they are allowed to get are they need. So i can also send this to my church are pastor, are family. My huband will flip out if he knew. I also know of a drive to do with cell phones are something. Free.. I will check this out. I was just talking to someone today about the vet programs. ANy information would help. Maybe also i could write them in support. I am at home alot. Doing this would be good for me. My husband is messed up right now from the gulf war, And is having medical problems. Let me know and God bless you during this time.. Mae
