Default "Here comes the scammer"

I walked into the CVS by my house at 8:05 a.m. on Thanksgiving. The manager said to a woman checker about 20 feet away from him. Here comes the scammer and it's Thanksgiving.

I'm shocked that a manager said this. I'm not a scammer. I spent almost $100 dollars there that morning and spend at least $200 at CVS a month.

I don't know why it became acceptable to get down on someone because they use coupons and take advantage of deals that their store offers to get business.

My husband thinks I should complain. I would but I don't want to make it ackward when I go in there again.

Thoughts?

I'm nonconfrontational, but I would definitely complain. If I were in just the right mood (AKA PMS) I would have gone off on him. LOL. I'm a sup for a call center for a company who wins customer service awards over and over and as leadership, I am totally expected to set the right example, never make anyone, especially a customer feel anything negative (i.e. a scammer, theif whatever) He was completely out of line and I would not feel weird about complaining. I think you should!

First off, you know they're jealous that they are not as strategic as you are. And second, I think you should complain to corporate.

I probaly would have called him out on it on the spot by saying excuse me? Stuff like this makes me so mad. I was talking with my husband aunt who works at cvs in a very close town - I haven't told her I'm one of "those people" as she calls them. She said that they had two women come in that morning and had boxes full of q. She stated she hates people like that and she makes a point to lolly gage around before she will check them out. I asked what the big deal is - she said they take so much time to ring out with q and separte trans. I said "what is the difference between doing separte trans with one person or ring up several people with one trans" of cousre I got no response!

Yes, I agree I would have fired on the spot. Probably had to bitch him out and walk out! There is no reason for him to say crap like that...you are a customer and the reason he has a job. I would call a higher up and complain for sure

That is so incredibly rude. I made it my new year's resolution one year to always let management know when I received really good or bad service and I pretty much stick to it. I figure that I do what ever I can to be respectful, pleasant and helpful in any job/situation I have ever worked or been in and I expect the same in return. I would certainly make sure to let the powers that be know about his comment.

I don't know what it is about people who use coupons and cashiers/managers. You know I went into Walgreens one day and was checking out. My IP q's would not scan, I said nothing, didn't get a chance to because there was another cashier standing right next to the cashier that was checking me out and quickly showed her how to manually put in the q's. So the cashier that was waiting on me made the comment about how she never thought about using q's until she started working there...and the cashier that helped her manually put in my q's said if she started to use q's then she would wind up being a dreaded customers who complain all the time when they coupons don't go through. I said what like me?..and I was joking and she said yup...I just said well I didn't complain and then she came back and said I didn't give you a chance to did it? UGGG

Default call corporate and let them know

The manager is setting a bad example for his employees and needs to be called out about it. It is not acceptable for any employee to speak to a customer like that, especially a manager. I do not let people like that get to me. I would have called him out right there and asked for a number to call in a complaint against him. You should definately contact corporate and let them know they have a manager that needs to take some customer service classes

I would have said something right then and there. I am not confrontational but what he said is out of line. I would be on the phone with the cust. service number asap. No matter how many q's you use or how much $$ you spend, you are still a paying customer. If they didn't want people to use EB's and q's, they'd have a different policy.
