Yikes, what a goof he was. If an employee says something inappropriate, make sure to look very closely at their name tag. (And make it obvious that you ARE looking closely at their name tag.) If they don't have a name tag, ask them politely for their name. And make sure you get the name and spelling right. ("Is that Steven with a V or PH? Thanks.")

Then say no more, unless you want to, but be sure to write corporate and give them feedback on what happened. It's not a complaint (though there is nothing wrong with complaining in a case like that) it is simply giving them feedback so they can decide if their employees need more training. Or firing. Or whatever.

Feedback is usually appreciated! It is VALUABLE input, after all. You may even score a gift card or coupons for it, but even if you don't, you will still feel better and you will have done the right thing for customers everywhere.

I would be interested to know if you followed up on this situation and what happened?

Like most have said, I would say report him and move on. If you shy from the situation(in this case) I believe it will only get worse as you said nothing to him about his comments it at the time so his actions in future may be more brazen or rude.

Some just need to be reminded from time to time they are in the customer service business.

I would send an e mail to coorporate stating exactly what was said, if you knows the names in clude who said and and ti whom they said it to. Let them know the location of the store and the time and date you were there. That way even if you are not positive of his name they can figure it out based on the info you give them.

By no means should you or anyone be treated this way!

The more I thought about it, the more mad I got - especially after reading everyone's responses. I sent a letter to corporate but did not sign my name to it... that way I can shop there in peace.

A coupon is a form of payment. (The store gets paid by the manufacturer who issues the coupon.) Using coupons well isn't scamming ... it's smart! I wish stores would do a better job educating cashiers about the fact that coupons aren't cheating. Some cashiers are great ... but they're a minority.

I've had some issues with IP coupons at my local CVS. One shift supervisor gave my IP coupons the hairy eyeball. I just said, "I'm in here a couple times a week and you have my name, attached to my CVS card, so I have no incentive to give you bogus coupons." I can get stuff free or very cheap without cheating, so why would I want to do anything to endanger that?

I'm shocked that a manager said this. I'm not a scammer. I spent almost $100 dollars there that morning and spend at least $200 at CVS a month.

I don't know why it became acceptable to get down on someone because they use coupons and take advantage of deals that their store offers to get business.

My husband thinks I should complain. I would but I don't want to make it ackward when I go in there again.

Thoughts?
this is interesting. i had been thinking about this... and, i apologize for the rude comment... but, when i did my first ecb deal on thanksgiving, i got SEVERAL free items... and i'm talking about REALLY FREE; NO TAX and NO OOP!!! it was crazy.... when i got to the car, i was thinking to myself "THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!" lol... but forreal. it was just too good to be true... i really wonder if it's ok. because, when i do my ecb deals, that's all i buy-- i don't buy anything extra, so my total always equals $0.00....... interesting to think about. are we really scammers???!!!
