Default No one in my town knows the "secret" :)

So I knew that no one in my town seems to take advantage of CVS' weekly deals, but I thought surely there would at least be some today...but no! I got to my CVS at 6:55 this morning and there was one other person in the parking lot, who turned out to be an employee and she did no shopping. Then two others showed up, but were not there for the deals, just to randomly shop! I was the only one shopping the Thanksgiving deals, and they weren't even marked! It was a good thing I had made a more detailed list than I usually do.

I only did one transaction because I heard that some people were have trouble to doing consecutive ones. So I'm planning to go back tomorrow and Saturday. I'm guessing they will not be sold out of anything, plus I got the items today that they usually sell out of first.

Hope everyone else had a great of start to their Thanksgiving as I did!

Lucky you!!

I'm lucky there is one of any item left when I go. Most times I end up having to go to multiple stores just to get everything.

I hit my CVS on the way home from work at 12 AM and there where 3 cars in the parking lot and I don't think any where there for the Deals (and I live in a fairly good size City). Oh well, that was good for me.

Had $3.49ECB - from Crest (FREE)
$8.99ECB - from Maybelline (FREE)
$16.00 on Gift Card from Pharmacy transfer
$9.00 in Coupons
$6.61 OOP
and Walked out with $46.00 in ECB

Not bad for a Newbie - LOL

so i went home for thanksgiving and i made sure to get there by 8am... opening.. i took my mom w/ me and wanted to show her how to do this. she's not adopted this shopping method yet eventhough i tell her how much i save....

in the morning.. i'm like, come on ma come on.. i can feel deals slipping away as we speak. my dad starts cracking up in bed... going, "uppppppp, there goes another one..."... and "oooppppp, there goes another"... it was pretty funny... my mom keeps insisting no one will be there and i'm like, ma.. u don't understand.. a lot of people are doing this and i would think that my hometown would be one of the... it's all middle and lower class blue collar town....

so we get there.. and we're the only people there working on these deals... my mom's like, see.. i told you.. the only people here are probably old people filling their perscriptions... lol.. she was right....

so anyways, we were able to get every deal we planned on. i did all my transactions and she stood there and watched everything... (i planned mine in advance... she said she'd just pick up the same stuff as me)...then i had to work out her deals, so i stepped over to the photo counter and worked on the math. She didnt have many previous ECBs to work w/ but did have 2 Qs for $5 off $25... took me about 10 mins and then we checked her out... she bought more stuff than i cause she needed a few other things...

she ended up spending $20 for $140 worth of stuff.

we get in the car and i'm like see... u needed to buy the prilosec for dad ($10) and u wanted to soda deal anways (3 12pks for $11)... u got all this other stuff for free... all this stuff for the price of the 2 things u wanted to buy anyways...

she was excited but was saying how there was no way she'd be able to pull this stuff off at work during her lunch break and i said, this is something she needs to do on sunday mornings. yes it takes work, but look at ur savings!

i'm probably going to help her plan out deals since i do mine anyways....

I hit the store at 8:00, only to be told it opened at 7:00 (not what they told me on the phone). My BIL came with me. We were the only ones shopping, and I got everything free on the flyer. My BIL was very impressed! I'm so happy.

Default CVS this morning

My daughter and I were the only ones in the store too! The employees didn't even know that the sale started today when I asked them for the flyer. I saved $153.91 today!! I didn't even spend any money out of pocket, I used my ECBs from last week, my $30 RX transfer giftcard and did 2 transactions. I have around $43 in ECB and $27 left on my giftcard. I'm sooo happy !!!

I haven't looked at the ads extensively, only previewed them on the preview sites. Not anything in particular to get excited about...it seems like many of the deals are such that you pay a certain amount and only get 10-30% of the cost of the item back in ECB's. Stuff like "buy $6 in chocolates and get 1 ECB back" kind of deals. I have faith that they're be a few good to decent deals, though. If anything, I can devote more energy into grocery deals during that time, too.
