Default 50% Chocolate Fountain.....so glad my husband talked me into it!

So, yesterday I was out doing some errands with my husband and 2 boys. We stopped at CVS as I had an additional $17 to spend towards my beauty club total and had a $10 ECB in hand. I wanted to do the Revlon deal but just could not work out a deal that warranted me spending that much money for something I did not need. Frustrated, I headed back to find my family in the Christmas clearance section. They were staring longingly at the Christmas Chocolate Fountain regularly $19.99 and on sale for $9.99. My husband suggested that we purchase the fountain as it would be something fun to let the boys do (and US, come on!!) on New Year's Eve. My first thought was.....but, that would be the entire amount of my ECB and I really wanted to roll it into more ECBs. And, then I thought of all the fun that was to be had.........

It is New Years Eve and my husband, boys and I just finished enjoying the chocolate fountain. It worked like a charm, was incredibly yummy and we had so much fun. Sometimes, you just have to let the scenarios rest by the wayside and enjoy life.

Happy New Year friends! May the new year bring you beautiful things, wonderful friends and super-duper deals!!

Sounds like a great New Year's Eve with the family. That is worth 10 bucks!

I think you made the right choice. It sounds like your NYE was worth sacrificing the ECB and lets face it, you would not remember the deal you would have made but you will always remember the fun you had with your family. There will always be another deal but moments with your family are fleeting.

I am so glad you had fun with it. My DH is always trying to get me to buy one, but I just can't see the need for it. Yes, I love chocolate, but the reality is that I wouldn't use it.

Just for curiosity sake, what type of chocolate do you have to use???

The little instruction booklet said you can use milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate. I used a mixture of left-over milk & dark chocolate chips. The other option is nacho cheese sauce. And, yes, we will be hosting a super bowl party this year and the "nacho" fountain will be the guest of honor. I will be cutting up chunks of French bread.....but, what else could I serve as a dipping ingredient?

The long thick pretzel rods go great with cheese.
So do bagel thins or crisps.
    Even some vegetables like brocolli.

My BFF and I ran to CVS the other day to see if there was a fountain clearanced at one of ours... No luck! They didn't even have one to look at. She's getting married in October and wants a chocolate fountain... What is the quality of the machine? Do you think it would last for several hours of continual running? Just trying to get an idea if we can plan to get one at CVS or if we need a better quality machine.

I purchased one of these at a Garage sale (NIB) and never read the directions, just put it away....like a silly! I HAD NO CLUE YOU COULD PUT NACHO CHEESE DIP IN IT! I wonder if you need to make sure it's a certain consistancy? Sam's sells the big cans already made pretty reasonable....I am thinking our superbowl party will look pretty awesome too!!!
