[QUOTE=rachiebaby18;40102]here's some stuff i put together from mine, and other's posts...

I have heard that you should redeem your coupons in a certain order. Any truth to that.

Most people use their MFR and CVS Qs first and then the ECBs, just so they can see what their total gets marked down to; that way they can see if their using the proper amount of ECBs.

Depending on your state sometimes it is beneficial to give the ECBs and $/$$ first then the manuafacturers' coupons since the ECBs will lower the taxable amount but not pay for tax and while the mq amount can still be taxable it will also pay for the tax.

If you have a $4 off $20 or $3 off $15 CVS coupon... you must use that coupon first before all other Qs. Say your was $20 and then after MFR q's it was $10, the CVS $4 off $20 Q would beep and not go through cause it was showing the total as $10 not $20... so use the CVS Q once first.

Many have found that you can present the $/$$ in any order because the register still remembers the original subtotal.

In the past with certain deals there are register problems that won’t allow you to use your full amount of ECBs. If this happens, have the cashier void out the transaction and try again. This time, use you’re ECBs first before all other coupons. This is more than likely to go through.

Also rescanning your card often takes care of the problem and a quicker solution.

Do ECBs count as coupons? What I mean is if I buy 5 items with a coupon each and I have a $ off/$$ coupon plus ECBs I will have more coupons than items. Is that okay or should I have more items as fillers?

Thanks for the post. it's a great idea for us newbies.
Your ECBs should not count towards your coupon total.

The District Mgr called on Christmas Eve. I related both stories to her. She said she would call him. I asked her to call me back after she did. She wanted to know if telling him that I was right in this matter would satisfy me. I said No! I wanted him to know that he shouldn’t be rude to me again or anyone else, and that I wanted the employees that were there at each altercation to be told that I didn’t do anything wrong. I had felt a difference in their attitude after the first problem. She said she would. She called me back and said everything had been taken care of and that I would not have a problem in that store again. She gave me her direct number for me to call if I had any other problems. You never know what was really said, we’ll see. I avoid that store so havn’t run in to him again.

well GFY in standing up for yourself.......there's an old saying in that "if you don't stand up for yourself...you'll fall for anything" well done. where you spend your hard earned money is a choice and we as consumers have an obligation to let the ppl in charge (the ones that are not there on a daily basis) know how we are being treated when we spend our money and to let them know in no uncertain terms that we WILL shop somewhere else when we are not respected.

I live in NH where there is no tax so for me what would work better? Giving Manuafactures q's then ECB or Vise versa? thanks

If I had no tax I would hand over the MQs first that way it's super easy to know how many ECBs you need to use without losing any if a coupon is adjusted or rejected or another unforeseen situation arises. You are so blessed not having to finagle the numbers!

Default Question

When there is a limit on an item with a ebc. Do you have to have a different card when you want more ecb's on the item?

Some do, I don't. I only have 1 card and it gets me enough of what I need.

when there are several items that will give you ECB's, do you have to do them in different transactions or will it give them all to you in the same transaction? (if i'm not making sense say the toothpaste i'm going to get says $1 ECB for buying it, plus the shampoo i want says $2ECB...do i have to ring them up separately?) i don't think you would have to, but i've never done this before and just want to make sure before my first trip so I know what I'm doing.

You can do any combination of ECB producing products in one transaction or however many transactions you want to do.
